Hey all, I removed the BIOS password from my FZ-G1 Mk2. It boots the first time with no password, complains that the checksum is bad, and resets a password onto the machine. I'll upload the original file and the file with the password removed - can you tell me what I need to change? Thank you so much!

Ahhhh, one of these values must be the "set" value and one must be the "default" value. I see what you did. Thank you very much, I would be willing to bet that this works ^_^ Unfortunately, it's a massive PITA to get to the chip on this particular laptop. I'll let you know as soon as I try it.Comment

The motherboard also contains three BIOS chips: two different Winbond chips for main BIOS and external EC flash, and also a Gigadevice chip which purpose I do not know. The password information is contained directly in controller and thus can be manipulated by reprogramming it, so reprogramming BIOS chips is technically not required, however you may wish to make...-

by NopslideHello everyone, I come here to tell you my problem regarding the power-on password. It is not a bios reset demand, and i can't have any access to windows. This is the bios and power-on password that is blocking all other things.
My Omen 15-dh0052nf purchased second-hand was configured with the bios password upon purchase (very simple password :P ).
Having decided to sell it in order to get something more powerful, I reset all BIOS settings and set a blank administrator password. But the power-on password cannot be changed to a blank one so I let the actual password set....-
