Unforunately, just this one repair on my own laptop but I have enjoyed learning all the info from your site. So now that I have seen the programmer costs so much money, I am stuck and thinking I have no choice but to take it to a repair shop

Unless you can think of anything else I can try first but I think I need to re-programme the EC chip as well right, now that I have written to the BIOS, as the laptop still doesn't get past the black screen.

If you`re doing a lot of laptop repairs an EC programmer is a necessity. It will pay for itself eventually.

You can`t program it with a CH341A afaik.

My motherboard only has one BIOS chip and I have applied a new BIOS .bin file provided to me by @qayyum786 in another post but the laptop is still not working and I am thinking that maybe I need to also apply an EC update but I am not sure how that needs to be written and if it needs to be modified for my laptop. Thanks.

You need the bios attached at post #10, use the information about the DMI and Windows key offsets at the attached txt file to transfer them from your dump to the new one.

If you want further help beyond a bios request start a new thread here:

So a couple of years ago i got a bios update through Lenovo Vantage, so i installed it and bricked my whole BIOS, so i couldn't fix it so i put that ideapad in a box, 3 years later i found that one PC and want to recover it to switch from a 2014 hp laptop to this one.

I found a method to recover the BIOS of many lenovo laptops tha consists in pluging in a USB Flash with the BIOS files and power on the laptop with Fn + R keys pressed until fans go loud and start beeping loud, but nothing worked, so i think filename is wrong, i tried naming the bios file as 07WW.BIN, BIOS.BIN, BIOS.fd,...

Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 (serial number: MP2BFZEF) bios request
    by Wahaz
    Hello,

I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....

    Hello there.

I am working on a Lenovo Legion T5-26AMR5 desktop that currently has a corrupt BIOS and I have been unsuccessful thus far in trying to fix it myself.

    History:

    1. This computer came to me initially with an error message that said "BiInitializeLibrary failed 0xc0000001" or "0135 fan error". It would always be one of the two errors. It should be noted that when it produced the fan error, there was no physical problem with the fans. They were all spinning just fine.

I searched for this error online and discovered...
