did you read post #3??? make a copy before writing the original bios..

Copy the DMI (serial,feature Byte,win key) from your backup to the virgin bios using a hex editor.Select the same offsets (select block in HxD) in both bios,copy from the old,paste to the new.

Going to read these guides. What can be done if one doesn't have the original bios? Customer brought their laptop to me and they apparently tinkered and messed up their bios. I saved original that was on the chip but I don't trust it. He sounded like he just got a bios somewhere and messed it up.

post S/N, full name and model, motherboard model, product number,etc.

post the contents of the bios chip even if it is corrupted..
