Re: ASUS TP412UA BIOS Request / Help with UEFI Tool
Has anyone got a dump of the embedded controller for this model? Just had one come in with a shorted EC, the code isn't in the main BIOS.

Re: ASUS TP412UA GPU or CPU not turning ON
Bios flashing fixed. Found one on the net, it worked but 30 sec delay and didn't detect ram. I have fixed those in the attached cleaned me region for others to use.Attached FilesLeave a comment:

Re: ASUS TP412UA BIOS Request / Help with UEFI Tool
Hi peste, this had a different effect and still did not work. What happenes is this:
Turn On
Few seconds, Turn Off.
Turn On,
Few seconds, Turn Off.
Turn On. Stay on more than 3 minutes then while staying ON, yellow (amber) light starts flashing non stop. There is no pattern to the Yellow light, just keeps going on and off in a timely fashion, maybe every 1 second.
Same behaviour with SSD inside or out. Same behaviour with or without battery.
I suspect the issue is related to that COIL which has no power. I'm going to remove it and turn it on see if the MOSFET next to it will supply power to 1 leg of coil. If not, I'll go backwards and work on the mosfet/gate situation.
I wonder if there is a way to disable onboard RAM - usually you cam move some resistors around but not sure about this particular model on which and how to.Leave a comment:

ASUS TP412UA BIOS Request / Help with UEFI Tool
Hi all and thank you for your help so far. Please I have 2 requests and 2nd is more important then the first.
1. Request for BIOS for ASUS TP412UA Motherboard.
Attached are 3 files related to it:
File 1 is Dump from original BIOS.
File 2 is I've cleaned the Intel ME region from my Dump.
File 4 is Downloaded BIOS from ASUS website to make it easy for you.
2. Request is I've tried to open the File 4 from above in UEFI Tool and attempted to hopefuly export the BIOS region however I can only see "UEFI Image" instead of "Intel Image" as you would with cleaned ME region BIOS or from a Dump. So I've used a Hex Editor to trim down to match both header start and ending to the cleaned and the dump version but I wasn't able to trim it further and wouldn't fit in the BIOS as it was refused by the programmer. I use Raspberry Pie to the programmings using flashrom utility. My request is how can I in the future integrate the BIOS from file ASUS website and into my Dump or generate a BIOS file from ASUS's website.
For this purpose I've attached my trimmed down version of the BIOS file which is File 3, but it's too long. I also make YouTube videos and your help will help me produce the content so others can benefit.
Original fault of the machine for your reference, it turns on and nothing else. It charges battery. No backlight. Caps lock / num lock light when pressed. From watching the fan very closely I can sort of see a loop where it ever so slightly slows down and goes faster again, but faintly, unless I'm imagining.
All voltages are there except Coil Marked on the attached board image which Resistance to ground reading is just above 3 Ohms which I suspect is normal.
Under thermal camera all look good nothing out of ordinary. CPU does start to get warm over time which is normal hence the fan spinning afterwards.
Thank you in advance.Last edited by sikocan; 02-19-2021, 01:13 AM.Leave a comment:

by piratiHello everyone,
I recently bought a non-working Asus Zenbook Pro Duo OLED UX8402ZA that was listed for parts only. The seller mentioned that it had no display output but that the charging lights worked.
When the laptop arrived (without a charger and SSD), I connected a charger and confirmed with a multimeter that it was charging the battery. However, when I tried to power it on, only the backlight of the secondary display came on. There was no image, and it didn’t boot into the BIOS.
I decided to try flashing a new BIOS, but since I didn’t want to desolder...-

by grimacelordHello,
I have spent the last hour on this and I guess this is just over my head, so here I am.
I have an ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI motherboard here that needs to have the BIOS updated in order to accept the latest CPUs.
The BIOS chips seem to come as a set of two: GD25B64ESIG and GD25B128ESIG. My guess is one of them is a fail-safe for the main BIOS? I really don't know. Or one of them is ME and other is BIOS? I don't know.
Anyway, I took dumps of both chips and then downloaded the latest update for this motherboard from ASUS's website...-

by jbonavitaHi, my laptop wont boot at all
With original bios no POST, only LED lights
With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
Some issues
A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized
Things I tried
1- Update / clear ME: Took the non working bios, made a backup, and did this: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...theory/trouble...-

by ArkzGHey guys, I have an "ASUS TUF Gaming A15 FA506NF (2021)" that's locked with a UEFI password, I need to reprogram the BIOS chip but can't find a clean ".bin" file for this specific model, I've tried the official BIOS updates from ASUS support page, but they're 32MB updaters that don't extract to a usable 2MB .bin file for direct chip programming.
What I currently have available:
- Model: FA506NF (2021)
- BIOS chip: GD25LQ16 (16Mbit/2MB)
- Tools: CH341A programmer ready to use
Does anyone have either a clean 2MB .bin dump of this model,...-

For start, it is an asus vivobook s510ua with an asustek x510ua motherboard with an intel i5 7200u cpu and 16gb ram.. i have a screenshot from speccy before strange things started.. as you can see the laptop type and bios version x510ua.302.I don’t manually update the bios because i don’t like to having a bricked bios, i know what troubles that gives..
I did a fresh win 11 install, and after the automatic updates, windows rebooted and automatically started asus ez flash.....-
