        1. Reflash to original BIOS from backup, of course in locked state. Validate the flash content if you can.
        2. Reattach everything.
        3. Boot into Windows(either from live USB image or transplant bootable drive from another system) and clear the TPM by using clear-tpm -useppi command from powershell. (Physical presence for clearing was enabled in my BIOS.) I'm not sure if the problem was exactly caused by TPM but I just did it just to be safe.
        4. Restart the laptop by holding shift when you click on [Restart] for complete power cycle and confirm to clear the TPM from BIOS prompt. The laptop will automatically reboot afterwards.
        5. Restart, enter BIOS and browse to [Config], enter [Power] and disable built-in battery. (My habit before disassembling any ThinkPad laptop.)

        6. Disassemble, disconnect internal battery and also CMOS battery.
        7. Flash patched BIOS. Use the premade one if you still fail. Validate the flash content if you can.
        8. Do not connect internal battery and CMOS battery, just put the bottom cover back.
        9. The laptop should automatically power up when you plug the power adapter in, with warning message i.e. time not set.
        10. Do not press other keys, don't care about the other options. All you need to do is press F1 to access BIOS. Follow the exact same steps to clear the password.

This is from X250 and my experience will only apply on this model with the exact same symptom.
How to flash bios bin file is there tool for that

Re: LENOVO BIOS AUTO-PATCHER for Supervisor Password Removal

Hi guys, i have a Thinkpad x250 with locked bios asking supervisor password and no boot without inserting it.

I first dump the bios using CH341A + SOIC8 clip + CH341A Programmer v1.18, and than i used lenovo autopatcher v02 from the firts post to try to patch it.

But autopatcher give me the error " <file-name> is corrupted or does not contain a valid dump".

So i tried to take another x250 (that i bougth as replacements parts and NOT boot), dump bios, patch it, and the patched file was generated with no error!

At this point, i flashed this patched bios to the firts x250, but when i try to boot up it, power button flash 3 time and nothing happens. So, i tried to rewrite his original dump, but the laptop not boot anymore.

Now my x250 doesn't boot, black screen, and power button led flash 3 time..
                  any solution?
                  thanks a lot

Your backup is corrupt, the size is too small it should be MB not KB.

Make sure that the dumps looks good, i.e. not filled with 0x00 or 0xFF. After compression, if the file has a size of only a few kilobytes, the EEPROM was most likely not read properly.

Open your bios with a hex editor,i recommend HxD - https://mh-nexus.de/en/hxd/ ,your dump is all FF FF FF FF ,16MB of FF`s ,there is no other code. Open the X250 pre-patched bios in this thread and look at the code, your backup should be similar -> https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=81573 . Its important to always make a good backup.

                          .
i solved by myself the problem!
I flashed this bios (using AsProgrammer 2.0.4) for x250 founded on this forum (HERE the original thread), and the device turn on again, but always locked with supervisor password.
Then, i patched the bios with autopatcher, and boom! supervisor password removed!
i reflash back the bios and restored it to default settings...
i attach the "stock" and the "patched" bios, so if someone need it can download and use it!

thanks a lot for the support, next time i will check if backuped bios will be corrupted or not before flash the new one

                                    Hello,

First of all, congratulations for this gold mine of information for anyone who wants to work on the bios of their machine!

This is what leads me to ask for your help, like many I am looking to delete the supervisor password for one:
                                    -Thinkpad E15 GEN2
                                    - Model type: 20T9SOYE00

Case (maybe special), I've had the PC for a while and for some reason, it asks me for the password at startup randomly? Random which turns into systematic...

                                    I read carefully: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...postcount=2901
in particular sections 1 and 3.7.

I purchased a CH341A, not ideal, I understood well but given my level of computing I limited the expense given the little chance of success that I put in it (I'm wrong you say?).

1st Question: I can't locate the bios chip... can anyone help me?

2nd: since the computer sometimes runs under Windows, are there procedures similar to the one presented at the beginning of the post to read/save/correct/dump the bios but under Windows environment ?

Thank you in advance for your help, as it is strongly recommended to do, I will use the "search" function again but a lot of reading without much progress for the moment!

Wow ! thank you for this quick feedback and (the anticipation of the questions)

                                          Sérial number : PF-2T7VT2

so if I understood correctly, it doesn't happen at the bios level but at the "EC" level... what is that? I read the post carefully and I didn't see where the chip in question was located
