    Lenovo x250 bricked, bios needed

    Hi,

My Lenovo x250 Core i5 5200U die or is bricked after I crap my clover setup and something went bananas in the nvram. The last message I read was cram full, then reboot and the just turn on the power led, then the keyboard backlight on/off, and in 30 seconds, all off. No screen.

I have the ch341a, but even If I backup my old bios, its useless. Anyway I have all the uuid, serial, etc, safe.

My bios version previous to the brick was 1.27. https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobiles/n10uj15w.exe

Do I need just the .bin extracted from Lenovo update file or do I need a complete Dump?

    Thanks

What your are extracting from lenovo site is just a bios region (01E5000.FL1 )n.Post your old dump to make a full dump

u cannot use the bios from the lenovo updater. you need a bios dump. You can have a try with the attached bios dump file. It worked for me.

Before flashing compare Mainboard Names to ensure, it's the correct bios. EC will most likely not be required.

        Good luck.

Fixed: Lenovo P14s Gen 1 (type 20Y1, 20Y2) Laptop (ThinkPad) bricked by a withdrawn BIOS update (r1buj82w)
          by akwky
          Hi!
Went dumpster-diving and found a bricked Lenovo P14S in trash, few weeks earlier. Symptoms - no screen, no POST, no beep, just keyboard LEDs flashing on powerup. Mute button+LED was responding though, and the display self-test was still working (via the key combo Ctrl+Fn+Power held for some seconds, see the Service manual).

Incidentally, Windows 11 have recently started auto-flashing computer BIOS in our region. Even more suspiciously, Lenovo has released a BIOS update just few days before the PC was trashed. About a week later, the BIOS update image has been oficially marked...

Summary of BIOS Whitelist Removal Problem

          Problem:
I am attempting to remove the WWAN card whitelist from my Lenovo ThinkPad T560.
          Initial Findings:
          • My current BIOS version is N1KET58W (1.45).
          • I have a CH341A programmer and have successfully created two full backups of my BIOS.
          • I have the ability to use command-line tools on a Linux machine.
          Troubleshooting Steps & Conclusions:
          • I attempted to use several automated and manual patching methods on my N1KET58W (1.45) BIOS, including using hex strings. These attempts all failed.
          • I concluded that the

Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 (serial number: MP2BFZEF) bios request
          by Wahaz
          Hello,

I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....

          by Nicola Bianchi
          Hello!

A few days ago I bricked my Lenovo x1 nano gen 1 while updating the bios/fw from linux.
No the machine power up, but it stuck in a recovery state and I can not do much.

          Type: 20UN - X021US
          S/N: R9 - 10W2D9

I would like to flash a new BIOS/FW on the chip using a CH341a programmer but ... I actually don't know which "chip" on the motherboard to target 🤦‍♂️
So here I am to ask for help.

I opened the laptop and I found a chip that may be the target, on it I've:

Hi, I have a few of these & they came with a custom bios boot logo, no passwords etc.

2 x were brand new unused but with custom boot logo, 1 I installed Windows/ran updates then it bricked itself. 1 wouldn't get past the custom bios boot logo.

The third I loaded windows, took a backup of the bios chip, then tried to flash several different clean bios's via programmer which all caused it to not boot. I tried to reflash the original bios both using clip & desoldering but...
