    Re: a1708 emc 2978 820-00875-01 bios

    Hi,
    I have A1708 EMC 3164 and main 820-00875-A
(I guess this main is from A1708 EMC 3164. It came from another service).

SPI was not soldered. And Main have had other traces of soldering and lack of elements.
    I restored everything.
All powers start exclude backside lights. Probably it is SPI issue.

I used SPI dump from topic number two.
I am watching SPI request and answer every 6 seconds.
    It is not correctly.
(By Mistake I have used BIOS from 820-00840-A main before - I saw only one SPI request)
So, can you help me to give correct BIOS for 820-00875-A
Is it important to use BIOS for 820-00875-A? Because I Used from 820-00875-1.
    Can I download 820-00875-1 instead of 820-00875-A?

    Thank you advance!

        They are different:

        From the bottom cover
        C02VLAEGHV22

        From the SPI

            Thank you so much!
You even put my serial number, you are very generous!
But importunately new BIOS gave my nothing.
Probably it has another kind of problem.

Hi, my laptop wont boot at all
With original bios no POST, only LED lights
With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
                          Some issues
                          A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized

                          by zenius
Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.

Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...

Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 (serial number: MP2BFZEF) bios request
                          by Wahaz
                          Hello,

I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....

Macbook pro 13 A1708 Low voltage on bios chip
                          by Marek011
Hi, While trying to unsolder the BIOS chip, I accidentally blew out the R6130 capacitor and now I'm wondering what kind of capacitor it is because I don't know which one to buy. Getting to the point. The Mac draws 20v and 0.330A and does not turn on, it is dead. On pin 8 of the BIOS chip (U6100), the meter shows only 1v and then drops to 0v. After connecting the USB tester to the board itself (with all ribbons disconnected), the board consumes 5V and 0.024A

                          Where could the problem be?
