840 G3, BIOS password locked, WSON8 SOIC8
Hello. You did very well here in the forum. Respect. Please try to help me. I am stupid and you are my last hope. I do not know what to to anymore.
I have a 840 G3 with a password locked BIOS. I have forgotten it so I desoldered the WSON8 chip, to make a dump backup with the CH341A programmer. It worked very well. After that I have used the HP unlockg tool here from the forum, to generate an unlocked BIOS dump backup and reprogramed the WSON8 chip. I was also successful but I damaged the WSON8 chip while I tried to solder it back on the motherboard. It broked in two pieces somehow but the motherboard has no damages. As I said before, I am stupid.
It is a company device. I really need to access the BIOS again to make some changes. I already asked HP for service and help but they want me to replace the whole motherboard. It is not helpful in my case.
Please have a look in the attachment. There is the dump backup of the W25Q128FVPIQ (WSON8).
I have bought a W25Q128FVSIQ (SOIC8).
Can I use it instead? There are solder contacts on the motherboard for it or is there something to prevent me to use the SOIC8 chip?
I tried many times, also with different dump backups here from the forum but every time I got a black screen and the LED blinked orange 5 times.

I havent done this for a long time and want to start it all again, after some evil and annyoing illness.
So I apologize in advance, if some phrases might sound a bit like gibberish or illogical to you.

Hello,
I have an EliteBook 850 G5. After a Windows update, including a BIOS update, the notebook turns on, but the screen remains black, and the fans spin at high speed—nothing else happens.
I assume the BIOS update failed, so I searched for the BIOS chip.
I found a Winbond chip located between the RAM and the hard drive, which has a size of 32 MB.
However, the BIOS update available on HP's website is only 17 MB in size. I used the update version that was previously installed when the notebook was still working.

Hi, my laptop wont boot at all
With original bios no POST, only LED lights
With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
Some issues
A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized

Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.
Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...
