    HP DV6-1455SV working bios-help?

    Hello everybody,

    This one is driving me nuts. I had to reinstall windows on this one and I saw that there was a BIOS update so I did..after successfully writing the laptop shut down normally, but afterwards it doesn't power on! The adaptor light is on only. Have tried flashing the bios from hp's site with no result. Tried several versions even the one before update. Any ideas please? Does anyone have a working dump of this one?
    Mainboard part number 578377-001, DAUT3MB28C1.

                  Hello,

                  Thanks again for your effort. I have managed to fix it after changing the bios chip and re-programming the bios from hp's site. Also afterwards I reused the bios update tool from hp and the bios was flashed ok. The laptop still works as of now..

                      Really strange, and it is getting on my nerves!
                      The laptop was working fine, after I shut it down the same problem occurs.
                      No power! The light near the dc jack is on. If I press the power button, it turns off (for 1 sec) and then stays on. I am starting to think that the problem might be from something else,not bios related..
                      Any help?

                          this machines have some strange static problems near cmos battery , chek carefully if you have putted the plastic isolating part on the top of the bios area , orelse it will make static between palmrest and motherboard ,
                          also another problem occur is near the socket were you connected the on off ribbon cable , somethimes there is a npn transistor that get damaged , but usually is visible the damage .

                              Thanks for your reply. The isolating tape that you are referring was on the motherboard.
                              I have checked the transistor you are mentioning and it seems fine. Still trying programming the bios chip with no positive result. When I connect the ac adaptor the light of the jack lights on, turns off for 1 sec and then stays on. I can't remember if it had this behavior.

                                  Well I have a final result. After leaving the board with all voltages disconnected for several hours (including CMOS battery out) laptop powers on and works. If I shut it down after some time and remove the ac adaptor again the same error occurs.. So I think I have to give it back to the owner with mainboard problem right? Any ideas on this crazy laptop?

                                      Well got this PC for simple system reinstal.

                                      Did that but whatever i do MEI driver just does not work.

                                      So i thought lets update bios. Downloaded A20 (current version is a14)ran it. Usual warning blah blah clicked ok and it rebooted and just loaded windows like nothing happened.. Im like wtf where is my flashing?

                                      Tried under dos same ... F12 boot menu has bios flash update too so i tried there SAME.

                                      Tried EVERY version other than downgrading.

                                      It just like prepares for update reboots and nothing happens.

                                      i have many 5050sff. all of them, and how i experienced over many years for all about 250 DELLs goin through my hands, are fully flashable and can be serviced in any way when the service_mode jumper is set.
                                      Never ever i experienced problems with that.

                                      Now i have one 5050sff machine, where this jumper isnt working at all.
                                      I do not get the normal messge that the jumper is set when booting and a short test with FPT just confirms this. Everything is locked -->> EVEN for reading !?

                                      The history of the machine is that i used it in my office...

                                      Hi i have one Macbook Air 2020 where touch ID is not working (it's not scanning fingerprints). Touch ID was working before, there is no error message during scanning fingerprint it's just not scanning on screen you can see only fingerprint but there are no red updates as when it's working. Power button is working fine.

                                      I've checked boardview and also schematics but i'm not able to find anything related to TouchID ... i have similar issue on a2338 where there was problem with PP3V0_TOUCHID​ and after replacing UT610 it was working but here i'm not able to find anything related to...

                                      Hello to everyone ,

                                      This is my first post here, and i would like to share with you a small story in case you can help me.

                                      Docker Type-C Gen 2 - Model 40AS. Was given to me by a friend for free ,but with the problem that you cannot use the video output ports.

                                      All ports work , USB , Ethernet, Type C ... but HDMI + Display Port don't work

                                      I searched on reddit and google for problem similar to that, and a LOT of people had fixed this problem by updating the firmware. So i tried , i searched and found 1.1.13 utility and 1.1.20 utility that can help...
