If you've come here looking for help unlocking a master password or a clear BIOS dump for your laptop, be warned that a few low-life people may attempt to SELL you the password or the BIOS dump file. That is against site policy! I have weeded out most of these people, but sometimes they come back with alternate names and it takes a little time to catch them.
If you create a thread for BIOS help and someone sends you a private message offering services for money to unlock your BIOS, DO NOT RESPOND TO THE PERSON AND PLEASE REPORT IT TO ME IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!! If you are referred or sent a link to a site outside this site, DO NOT participate or click on any link they send you, and again, please report it immediately!! DO NOT GIVE THE PERSON ANY MONEY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!! This site is about free help and making the tech community a stronger place. If you're patient enough, someone will help you in the thread you created at no cost. If you're in a hurry, there's a lot of these same scamsters that sell passwords on ebay and other venues.....Use those venues if you just can not wait, atleast you will have some buyer protection, here you have none!
Some tips to avoid getting hosed by one of these idiots:
1) If they want you to communicate outside this site (skype, email, etc); IT IS A SCAM!
2) If they send links to sites/URL's other than this site; IT IS A SCAM!
3) If they want any kind of payment (bitcoin, paypal, or gift cards); IT IS A SCAM!
Common sense will avoid most of these issues....but help protect the community and report this to the staff immediately!

by TopPopSorry for the long story. I have a Dell Latitude 5530 (i7) laptop (South Peak 15 MLK MB DDR4 203102-1 FK8VG$JA) with an admin BIOS password that I want to remove. Service Tag: HYKFPT3. Other than that the laptop worked OK.
I found a CH341A Black and went looking for the BIOS chip on the motherboard. After trying to read one chip that was a firmware chip but not the BIOS I think I found the BIOS chip labeled Winbond 25Q256JVEN. Altogether I think I found 4 different firmware chips in the laptop. The BIOS chip is a WSON8 6x8. I used the CH341A, NeoProgrammer, and a cheap pogo pin clip... -
by zeniusHello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.
Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...-

by DudebromanHello Hello,
I have been browsing the site and gotten so much useful info from here, including extremely helpful boardviews and several other very useful types of information. I am very grateful to this community, as I have actually eeked out a living from buying salvage PC's & Macbooks and repairing them. So, thank you all in advance!
I have searched and found some useful information regarding my issue, but my case is a bit different than the info I'm finding. But if anyone here can give me any useful advice, it would be highly appreciated.

I'm using TONGFANG "GM7TG7P" model laptop for over 3 years and i'm entering the same bios administrator password everyday. My laptop has Aptio BIOS (American Megatrends, AMI).
