How to transfer serial number and DMI data from bad HP BIOS to good one?

    Hi,

i have a corrupted BIOS file from a laptop, but i need to recover the serial number and DMI info (like product name, UUID, etc.). I also have a good BIOS dump from the same model.
Is there a simple way to copy the DMI data from the bad file to the good one?
    HP 650 G3

    Thanks!

use Bios Configuration Utility (BCU). install it and use it under cmd as Admin. use cmd line "biosconfigutility /get:1.txt" (or whatever you want to name it). Open 1.txt with text editor and change serial, sku buildid, fearure byte, CT and mac adress with one from old bios. You can find serial, sku buildid, fearure byte going to "partsurfer.hp.com" and type serial from old bios (5CG7372HL5)
    Serial Number : 5CG7372HL5
    Product Number : Z2W51EA
    Description : HP ProBook 650 G3
    BuildID: 16WWCLCT601#SABD#DABD
    Feature Byte: 3Q3X476J6S6Z6b7H7M7Q7W7m7saBaEapaqauawbhdQdUdpdqfXgd.eT

CT and Mac Adress you'll find on a label from faulty motherboard. CT is PGDQK00WB911KK

Modify 1.txt with these values, save it as "2.txt" in Documents folder then move it to BCU folder (it won't let you to save in BCU folder). Then use cmd line "biosconfigutility /set:2.txt". You can do this with BCU if you don't have password on bios.

Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 (serial number: MP2BFZEF) bios request
        by Wahaz
        Hello,

I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....

        by evilgenius31
        Hi All,

I was told to post my corrupted bios dump here. My Zephyrus G14 GA401QH-211 is missing the serial number in the bios. NVME drives can't be detected by the bios either. The bios version is 410.

        Serial: M4NRKD01530915H

        Thanks in advance!...

[Problem/ Request] Bricked TongFang GK7MRFR BIOS
        by cr4zychriss
        Hello everyone,
I am requesting urgent assistance to unbrick my laptop, a rebranded TongFang GK7MRFR chassis. The laptop is completely dead following a faulty in-OS EC flash attempt.
I have successfully used a CH341A programmer and can read/write/verify both flash chips, but using my backups/extractions has failed to restore power. The root cause is likely a corrupted Intel Management Engine (ME) region or an incompatible EC/BIOS pairing. System & Hardware Details

[REQUEST] Dell G3 3579 BIOS Password & AMI Protected Range/BIOS Guard Unlock
        by zenius
Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.

Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...
