    Which is bios chip?

I've got an old hp ze2000 that I'd like to flash bios. However I cannot identify which of the two is the right one. I want to flash bios because it has no power even after pressing power button. owner told me there's no previous issue, the laptop was just kept and haven't been used for almost 5 months. All voltages are ok even power button, it just doesn't seem to respond.

On page 26 U27 (atmel 93C46) and on page 29 U11 (pm39lv040-70vc) I've got datasheets for both one but I don't understand some of its functions (Still got a lot to learn) Any help is appreciated. thanks all

U27 - network card flash (keeping mac address & other settings)
    U11 - system bios

        Re: Which is bios chip?

        Hey,

I'm probably even less experienced that you, but if logic serves me right, U11 is the right chip.

U27 is fully connected to LAN module, most pins connect to RTL8110 and the chip itself is powered by LAN Vcc.

U11 is powered by 3V line directly.

The time I took to answer proves my lack of experience. You got your answer before I could even answer..

you should clean the solder off the flash & fit a socket on the board.

Unable to verify IC or write/erase/flash BIOS file to XMC QH128AHIG SPI chip using NeoProgrammer/AsProgrammer
                by testaccgta
                Hi, everyone!

I've recently acquired two brand new SPI chips to replace the one currently in my Acer A514-54G laptop MB (FH5AT LA-K092P). The reason why I'm replacing the current SPI chip is because I had some difficulties with a third-party IT assistant who pretty much lacked the soldering skills and ended up destroying the current SPI chip soldered to my MB from factory.

I've decided to do this on my own because I spent the past month or so learning some soldering skills and BIOS modding through Badcaps and WinRaid forums, hence the attempt. I've also chosen to buy...

Asus Chromebox CN62 - wrong chip put on BIOS reader
                by BMCappelletti
                Long story short:
                - dad converted Asus Chromebox CN62 into Windows compatible, with mrchromebox BIOS, years and years ago
                - gave the computer to his son a couple years later
                - son now decided to revert it to Chrome OS, to sell it as original (re-writing BIOS with the backup one created by his dad)
                - too lazy to remove the board from the case, thought a voltage regulator was the BIOS chip (you know... it has 8 legs)
(seems like the story was not that short)

He used alligator clips to read the chip. No luck reading it. Removed chip and placed on a SOC-8...

Lenovo laptop does not turn on, what does this number mean in a BIOS chip?
                by thxd43
Hello, first of all, excuse me, I am using the translator, English is not my native language.

                I have a Lenovo ideapad 330S - 14IKB laptop.

The tablet did not recognize me when I connected it, so I checked the device manager and I realized that there were many with the exclamation mark, so one by one I began to update their drivers until the sign disappeared of admiration, I even updated the BIOS, and the laptop rebooted normally and worked, so far so good, but the tablet still did not recognize me, I read on the internet that it could be due to a...

[Problem/ Request] Bricked TongFang GK7MRFR BIOS
                by cr4zychriss
                Hello everyone,
I am requesting urgent assistance to unbrick my laptop, a rebranded TongFang GK7MRFR chassis. The laptop is completely dead following a faulty in-OS EC flash attempt.
I have successfully used a CH341A programmer and can read/write/verify both flash chips, but using my backups/extractions has failed to restore power. The root cause is likely a corrupted Intel Management Engine (ME) region or an incompatible EC/BIOS pairing. System & Hardware Details

Acer e15-e5-576g-5762 bricked. Bios chip won't interface in AsProgrammer.
                by inck243
Thanks for any help. The board version is DAZAARMB6E0 REV: E. The bios chip is winbond 25Q64JVSIQ1736. W25Q64JV is not available in AsProgrammer -- only BV CV FV or FW_1.8c. The chip won't interface with asProgrammer and a CH341A. When I have this chip on the board, the laptop will not post but when I plug it in to power, the blue LED lights up, also the orange when the battery is connected. When I push the power on button, keyboard backlight turns on and the fan starts briefely then turns off. But I can't do anything to program this bios chip so I bought another one.

                The BIOS...
