Dell Inspiron 14 5425 bios needed

I'm having the same 2,5 error code, is there any way you can check the BIOS file again to see if there's a problem? I flashed my original BIOS back on and my original BIOS doesn't have any light codes. Only with the 'fixed' BIOS file.

So here is a dump of the chip that works. I can't use it though because it prompts me with a Clear TPM message on every boot, and no matter if I choose Yes or No, the message happens on every boot. The customer will not accept this.

I need the Windows key, Service Tag, and TPM (if able), from the NotWorkingBIOS file, to be transferred into to the WorkingBIOS file.

Service Tag should be 7ZPTJS3.

Ok I figured out how to transfer the Windows key and Service Tag over to a working BIOS.

I took the BIOS bin file in Post #43.

I then opened that file in HxD and searched for the text "DTAG" without quotes to find where the service tag is, then deleted the old Service Tag and pasted my Service Tag in.

For the Windows key, I searched for the Hex value "010000000000000001000000000000001d000000" without quotes. Same process.

I then saved and flashed the new BIN file to the chip and resoldered it to the customer's board. Works great but they're going to have to know what their BitLocker key is since I don't know how the TPM can be transferred over or if it can.

Is the .bin file you have uploaded specific to this owner's Service Tag and shouldn't be used on other models that are the same with a different Service Tag?

Thanks to all the contributions in the this thread here is what I did for anyone else coming to the thread

I can't upload the files here only a new member but what I did was:

1. Extracted existing failed BIOS with ASProgrammer
2. Got isflash.bin from running the .exe installer on another machine and copying isflash.bin before it is deleted when the installer is abandoned.
3. Made a note of the hex and locations of the service tag and the windows key - as mentioned in earlier posts
3. Opened isflash.bin and the bad bios in HxD
4. Copy as pasted the new bios that was contained in isflash.bin into the bad bios - the offsets of the clean bios from isflash.bin are approx. 001E6A90 to 011E6A80 ( i had to adjust the last line slightly when selecting a block using these numbers)
5. Added the service tag and windows keys in the clean bios the widows key has no marker to find it in the the clean bios but I found the whole block is located at 00EAA000 - 00EA030
6. Added main battery and CMOS battery back and booted - it powered up and down multiple times and I thought it had failed then it just worked.
7. Yellow message at top of the screen saying in maintenance mode with fan on full regardless - FN-X disables this

This may all be familiar to BIOS regulars but if you are coming to this cold with a CH341 as a one off job this info might help - Good Luck!
