Need help resetting BIOS Password on a new to me HP ZBook Power G9

    Hi All,

I have gone through all the postings about what I could find for the HP ZBook Power G9 to reset the BIOS password with help from RC Unlocker. I bought this unit from eBay and while it's a recent build (August 2023), it has definitely seen much better days (bent case, beat up top cover and a messed up RTX A2000 - somebody definitely went to town on it).

HP tells me that they will charge me nearly the price of the unit (for the motherboard) if they find so much as a BIOS password set on it despite the fact that the unit boots without entering any password.

Anyhow, I picked up a CH341a along the way, built myself a pogo pin jig with help from a 3d Printer and was able to read the BIOS and EC chip successfully off of the board (multiple consecutive takes - all identical). However, when I attempt to use RC Unlocker, what I get is this error message: "Wrong chip. Try reading and unlocking 16MB chip!". Both EC and BIOS SPI flash (as marked by silkscreen on top of the PCB) are W25Q256JVEN chips and they are both 32GB in size. I could be missing something here (another hidden chip?). Any help would be appreciated. If someone would like to try on their end, I will be more than happy to provide the Device Info and/or BIOS Images here.

    Thanks in advance,
