Samsung NP3530EC BIOS

Hi all.

Working on this Samsung and it was trying to do a bios update but failed (customer knew about the bios issue). Now the laptop wont turn on. It has power light but no display.

Done all common checks: memory re-seat etc. Anyone has a bios file for this laptop so I could reflash?

I've never extracted a bin file before from their installation. I just need a bin file to flash the chip with.

oh i see. that is some stupid exe file that downloads update for you.
you can find list of files here: http://web.archive.org/web/201209010...x/BIOSItemList
if somehow you can trace back what the platform id is, you should get the file name.
if it is ITEM_20110317_86_WIN_08HX.exe (as example)

you can download it at http://sbuservice.samsungmobile.com/...6_WIN_08HX.exe There should be a bin file inside the exe.

The Samsung NP3530EC has a "Bios crisis" and RTC reset next to the two memory slots. They are very tiny pairs of lands; use a screwdriver. FYI the battery is located on the wrong side of the motherboard so this tip is a real timesaver! It solved my boot problem.
My problem was that system restore was stuck in an infernal loop. Worked but could not reboot. I could not access the DVD or USB because I could not get into the bios with F2 or any other combo. That evil UEFI. If windows is broken how can one get to UEFI settings.
The more I use Windows 8 the more I hate it :-)

Sorry for late reply I got round it by removing the hard drive stuck in a new 1 then run Ubuntu off the dvd rom drive held down the key F4 got in.

is it like toshiba laptops or it has its own way

Thank you for the bios peste. but still no display. i think its not a bios problem.
