    Re: Lenovo ideapad 5 14alc05

Hello friends can someone help me I need bios Lenovo ideapad 5 14are05 motherboard LA-J701P Rev 2.0 Serial Number MP1ZX2E4, the original bios gives an image but freezes, the owner indicates that it happened after a windows update I have tried all the bios on this site to this model and the one for the motherboard model but none gives an image, I have tried to extract the bios from the web, but this format is different from the one I know, I don't know how to do it... could someone help me.

Write your device Full Model Number, Serial Number and upload your BIOS Backup here. If you know the EC file size write it too.

The attached file contains both (BIOS & EC), it's a Virgin BIOS from Lenovo with your DMI and Windows Key.

Hello. Could you please tell me if it's possible to update the BIOS on a Lenovo IdeaPad 5-14ARE05 (81YM) MP1XG5KX laptop from the current version DTCN27WW (v1.13)? The last update is dated May 30, 2022, and no newer versions have appeared on the official website since then. The platform is LNVNB161216.

I would like to understand the following:

                      – Are there any alternative ways to update it (for example, via engineering BIOS versions, unofficial sources, or using a BIOS from a similar model like the 14ALC05)?
If I try to flash the BIOS from the 14ALC05, will the laptop be immediately bricked, or is there a chance it will work? The flashing process seems to go through, but I'm a bit nervous.

                      Thank you!

Why would you do that? If the last version is DTCN27WW from 2022 stick with it, not always newer=better

Different CPU type, yours is Renoir (Ryzen 4000 series), 14ALC05 has Lucienne CPU (Ryzen 5000), high chance of a brick; AGESA (the equivalent to CPU microcode on AMD) only supports 1 CPU type on laptops, unlike desktop PCs which support several CPU types on the same socket
Even if the motherboard is exactly the same (same board number, but fitted with a different generation of CPU)
Don't know what you did to force flash as the updater should have stopped you from doing it, but as long as you didn't restart, flash original BIOS

With other laptops, the BIOS doesn't go through - it immediately throws an error. But with ALC, it calmly even offers to install and restart. xD. If this weren't my main laptop, I would've clicked install just out of curiosity.

So a couple of years ago i got a bios update through Lenovo Vantage, so i installed it and bricked my whole BIOS, so i couldn't fix it so i put that ideapad in a box, 3 years later i found that one PC and want to recover it to switch from a 2014 hp laptop to this one.

I found a method to recover the BIOS of many lenovo laptops tha consists in pluging in a USB Flash with the BIOS files and power on the laptop with Fn + R keys pressed until fans go loud and start beeping loud, but nothing worked, so i think filename is wrong, i tried naming the bios file as 07WW.BIN, BIOS.BIN, BIOS.fd,...
