Problem with Nitro AN517-41

There is a problem with the laptop. The laptop was working just fine. When I replaced the original display(BOE NE173QHM-NY6 V8.0) with a new one(BOE NE173QHM-NY2 V8.0), it started making problems. It tried to start - the keyboard lighted from left to right and tried to turn on but the display was just black. I waited for 10-15 seconds and I turned it off from the power button. Then I replaced the display back again to the original one and tried turning it on but it just lights the keyboard up and immediately shuts down. Could the problem be because I didn't wait long enough for the BIOS to update and the DMI part of the BIOS got damaged? And if this is the case, is it restorable and how could i fix it? There is a problem...

Most probably you didn't disconnect the battery before playing with the screen (connector), did you?

I did remove it before changing the display.

Good for you, otherwise all kind of problems can happens.
In general, since the laptop was working properly before, changing the display alone should not cause any problems, especially since even the model and characteristics of the new and old screens are almost the same. And since the battery has been also disconnected as it should be at this procedure, there is no reasonable explanation of what is happening.

I’m looking for a working 16MB SPI BIOS dump for the following laptop:

Model: Acer Nitro 5 AN517-41
Board / Model No: N20C2
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7, 5000 Series (Cezanne)
BIOS chip: Winbond W25Q128JVSQ (1.8V, 16MB)
Programmer: CH341A (with 1.8V adapter) Problem:


The laptop has no display output (black screen).
Fans spin, power LED is on, but no image on internal or external display. What I already tried:

• Read and backed up the original BIOS (16MB dump available)
• Acer BIOS update package contains an 18MB abobios.bin, not SPI-flashable
• UEFITool reports “UEFI volume not found” (common for this AMD Acer model)
• BIOS was flashed externally, but system still shows no image

What I need:

• A known-good 16MB SPI BIOS dump for AN517-41 / N20C2
• Same board revision / Ryzen 5000 platform
• Dump must be exactly 16,777,216 bytes

If someone has:

• a tested dump
• or can share a clean/full SPI image
• or is willing to help reconstruct a working BIOS

I can provide my original backup dump if needed.

I would really appreciate your help.

The laptop turns on, but there is no initialization, the keyboard backlight works, there is no image.
I found a dump on Google. Well, the size is too big. 16385kb My file size is 16384

Have you tried turning on the laptop again, without the display...or with the original display...does it turn on???

Yeah ofcourse, without the display, with old display,not working...Fans spin, cpu,gpu gets hot,keyboard lights are on, but no post..I don't get the +LCDVDD, INWPWRB+ is present...What else could lock the board unusable? Is there some protection as on apple devices? Can i post here the dump , maybe you can check it? I noticed there is a smaller bios chip , That's probably the GPU bios? i am not at home to check on the schematics...What could cause the board to have no picture? Is there a lock of some sort?

The bios shouldn`t die just by replacing the screen. Is the replacement the same part number or a different model

different model,but 40 pin as the original...shouldn't have any influence...
