    acer E1-530 SHORT GFX

    Hi everyone
the laptop comes to me dead i repair the power issue but the laptop power on with no data
after checking i found the cpu vcore but no gfx vcore and i get 0ohms with the gnd on PL701 is that means the cpu is defective ? .

Be sure you are using the lowest scale on your meter for the resistance mode checks of low voltage rails. NO POWER to the logic board when performing diode or resistance mode checks.

For low voltage rails, expect the resistance to be low (1-2 ohms to ground is considered ok on some CPUs) but 0 ohms denotes a short on the CPU or a capacitor on the rail. First confirm the meter setting but the next step is to usually, use a power supply at a low voltage setting = lower than the lowest voltage on the logic board. Then inject onto the rail that is showing this low resistance. Who is heating up upon injection??

If it is the semiconductor, then the component may be shorting. Otherwise, a capacitor may crack under such an injection -> remove the capacitor if present and test again.

      thnks for respond
      i inject 0.7v i get 0.15amps consumption but nothing becomes warm .

        0.7v i get 0.15amps
0.15A = 150 mA = will not cause a heating. This is not a short condition.

but when i desolder PL701 i get 0 ohm on the side of GPU .
i check the capacitors no short .

yes it's not a short condition
