a1706 820-00923 no power if battery connected

    hello
I have this laptop a1706 when you disconnect the battery the laptop powers on .the moment we connect the battery the laptop powers on for a second and then shuts off. changed several batteries same issue. But if the battery is connected i can see the voltage charging the battery with a volt meter the battery voltage steps up.now there is a diode D6950 rclamp zener for surge protection on data and clk ,this was giving me wrong readings so i removed it and still same issue.any ideas
    thanks

What are the voltage readings to ground of the pcb pads of d6950 with the battery connected?

During the charging phase, do you see the charging graphic in your software?

What are the voltage readings on the battery mosfet that interfaces with the battery? Measure the voltage on source, gate, drain to ground.

Do check the components that are linked to the battery leg for the current sensing.

all checked the current sensing resistor and also traces

Re: a1706 820-00923 no power if battery connected

        So far, looks ok.

With a good charged battery, what are mosfet readings?

The gate has to be lower than the voltage it is passing so the measured voltage is good to enable the P-channel mosfet.

The mosfet may be instructed to turn off if the charger IC is unable to gauge the current consumption on this leg of the circuit.

Do also check if the mosfet is defective. You can remove all power, meter in resistance mode.

        Measure the resistance across,

        Source (1-2-3) and drain (5-6-7-8)
        Source (1-2-3) and gate (4)
        Gate (4) and drain (5-6-7-8)

        Post each measurement.

the customer was not ready to wait, I had to return it but my guess was the smc error.

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
            by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

Lenovo P43s won't boot with internal battery connected – looking for help diagnosing battery issue
            by code share
            Hi everyone,

I'm having an issue with my Lenovo ThinkPad P43s. The laptop does not power on when the internal battery is connected, but it works fine on AC power alone (battery disconnected). Once the battery is reconnected, the system becomes completely unresponsive — no lights, no fan spin, nothing.

Here's what I've tried so far:
            • Power/EC reset (held power button for 60 seconds with battery and AC disconnected)
            • Booted successfully on AC power only with the battery disconnected
            • Visual inspection of the battery — no swelling, burn marks, or connector damage
            • Battery

Acer Predator Helios 300 - will not power up if battery is CONNECTED
            by survivalbloke
This was a no power initially. Thanks to your help, I discovered it was the first mosfet, so I replaced. Now, the device will power up only if the battery is NOT connected. As soon as I connect the battery, it shuts off. If I connected the battery while the device is off, it simply will not respond to the power button. I replaced the battery, and while I suppose the new battery could be faulty, I'm assuming it is not. I'm having the same behavior with the new battery. I measure .2v at the charging coil. Manually applying power to the + and - at the battery header, there is no charging happening....

820-2915-A Wont power on with battery connected
            by beogeek
Ok so this doing my head in and hopefully someone more knowledgeable will be able to assist.

I've got a MacBook Pro 820-2915-A it will power on without the battery connected, but when the battery is connected it will do a 2,3-second fan spin when pressing the power button and then nothing.

After measuring and probing around I found that R7051 was bad, reading high instead of 2.2Ω so I replaced it. Still the same issue, I have the green light on the charger but it won't power on or charge the battery.

So to cut the long story short I've replaced U7000,...

how to prevent a connected charger from draining battery when not charging?
            by flat-earther
I have an RC radio handset(Taranis QX7) which doesn't have internal battery charger which means I had to remove the battery every time I needed to charge it.
So to improve it, I added a 15W USB-C charger board(link) inside and soldered it to the same connector on the PCB where the battery plugs into, great, now I can simply charge it with a USB-C cable.

but the problem I found is that after the radio sat for two weeks without being used the 2S 18650 battery that I'm using was at 4.2V!
So the battery is backfeeding the charger and being drained.

            How can I prevent...
