    macbook 820-00165 ppbus short

    hello

    i've just got a macbook air 820-00165 motherboard.
    ppbus_g3h is short du to c7313, a tantalum 62uf 11v capacitor.

    my problem is that i haven't got any capacitor like this.

    can i leave c7313 empty as there is many many capacitor on g3hot line ?

      Yes, you can. Leave it off.

      Just repaired the same board a few minutes ago. SMC reset was stuck low. The board was filthy and the the SMC reset line was ~200 ohms to ground and with an output of 0v2 instead of 3v42.

      After dousing with IPA and cleaning up the reset supervisor - unit is back and working again. Came in with a fake charger and no green / amber light.

              Hello

              working on a dead a2141 logicboard - 820-01700

              no power, on usb c ampmeter it's on 5v drawing 0.01a

              visual inspection under the microscope - board look good, no liquid damage on any kind of damage.

              ppbus_g3h is 0.3v, and is shorted to ground showing around 50ohms (continuity beep) and climbing..

              i removed F7000 and F7001 and now getting 12v on PPBAT_G3H..

              also verified the short is on the system side (pin2 of F7000\1)..

              i tried to inject voltage, 1v to ppbus_g3h but it's only drawing...

              I check PPBUS_AON and there is a short present on the line, the computer shows a short when testing for short to ground, so when I inject voltage into the line, I get 0AMPS so no short is showing up. I have replaced a blown cap on this board that exploded and tested for the short and it is now removed. Any suggestions? I tested voltage at the line when the fuses are connected and I am getting 1.2 Volts at the line.

              Laptop: 5V - 0A

              Issue: PPBUS_AON_SPKRAMP_ABC and PPBUS_AON shorted.
              • On PPBUS_AON_SPKRAMP_ABC, capacitor CR635 was damaged (melted) and created an internal short circuit to ground.
              • I removed faulty components (CR635, CR634, CR633) and also chip UR630.
              • Result:
                • PPBUS_AON_SPKRAMP_ABC → still shorted
                • PPBUS_AON → still shorted

              When I inject 3 V / 1 A on PPBUS_AON_SPKRAMP_ABC, heating occurs on pad CR635.
