Check the ldo rails of each and every CD3215.

See here for an article from @Piernov:

        when using u 3200 port (5v on f3001 ) i get :
power meter rebooting loop and PP1V1_UPC_XB_LDO_BMC present

        using u 3100 port (5v onf3000 ) no power meter reboot but no PP1V1_UPC_XB_LDO_BMC

Do test the non powered usb port by rotating the type c connector by 180 degrees.

Then, remove all power. Meter in DIODE mode.

Red meter probe, yes RED to ground.
Black meter probe to the CC1 pin. Reading?

Repeat for CC2 pin. Reading? Repeat for each CD3215 controller.

          Post each diode reading.

There may be trouble with CD3100 due to the different CCx diode readings.

Can you measure & post the LDO list of values for each CD3215 controller ? Just like your last post but do label which CD3215 is which in your next post of voltages.

Remove all power. Check the resistance to ground of ppbus_g3h. One meter probe on ppbus_g3h, other meter probe to ground.

                        Remove the fuse on ppbus_g3h.

Power up again and check the voltage of ppbus_g3h before the fuse with your external power adapter.

Resistance is fine - no short.

                              1) Confirm the input voltage to the U7000 (ISL9239) @ PPDCIN_G3H (see the left side of the schematic page with U7000).

                              What is the voltage ?

Any liquid damage / corrosion in this area of the logic board ?

                              2) See attached. Post the voltage readings of D6902 pins (although you have listed that PP3V3_G3H is present in an earlier post).

                              3) Confirm again the presence and voltage of PP3V3_G3H.

strange thing before in the port of the u3200 waiting for a bit it switch to 20v. I connected the battery and I had fans and a low battery symbol, in the meantime I had heat in the u 3200 area, now I no longer even have 5v on the f3001.

with the other ports it did not switch to 20v

Did you replace with the same part number on U3200 ?

Is the IC a known good device or is from a donor board ?

Your logic board now consumes 200mA and then 0ma ? Is it power cycling ? Need full details.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                          Assuming...

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power

                                          Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                                          Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply

I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...
