    2.6. Never randomly bridge MOSFETs/fuse/components
Bridging components can easily lead to the destruction of the board without any way to repair it.
If it's a fuse, replace it with a matching fuse. If you don't, it will not be able to protect the board and if the source of the problem is still there, some other component will go up in flames.
If it's a MOSFET, its purpose is to stop current from flowing through it when turned off, and allow current to flow through it when turned on. It's not necessarily always turned on, otherwise it wouldn't be there. If it's turned off when it shouldn't be, then there is an issue elsewhere in the circuit, bridging the MOSFET won't solve it.

      HP probook 4510s mosfet issue
      by Cuboy
      Hello,

I am currently trying to help a ONG by volunteering to help repair laptops, it's something that i have been into since 2017, always watching videos, on discords, forums etc...

I have an HP ProBook 4510s laptop that does not power on and has no indicator lights, which suggests an issue with the power supply or the motherboard.

I started by verifying that there is voltage at the input of the motherboard, confirming that the power adapter is working correctly. However, when I checked the voltage at the output of the first MOSFET (Q1032), I found 19V at...

Lenovo Yoga 710 15ISK, 80U00002US battery cable wire broken.
      by emeskay
We have an Lenovo Yoga 710 15ISK that we use as a secondary laptop. To cut a long story short, around May 2023, while traveling, I connected the laptop into an electrical outlet that was already switched on. Something made a "pfft" sound and the laptop refused to turn on after that. After getting back home, I gave the the laptop for repair to an informal repair person. He replaced the adapter and an internal motherboard part, but after he returned it I noticed that the LCD did not look normal. Essentially, every alternate horizontal line on the screen had gone missing. The laptop was...

Lenovo Ideapad 5 15ARE05 startup issue
      by db80
      Hello friends,

I've been racking my brain over the past few months on the following issue:
I have a Lenovo Ideapad 5 15ARE05 laptop that basically works fine as long it starts up at all.

If you shut it down, often you hear the HDD still spinning and the Power LED remains on, it only shuts down if you force it (pressing the power button for like 15 seconds).
Then, if you want to Switch it on, nothing happens, only the Power LED lights on, nothing else. If you leave it, then after like 30-60mins it turns on itself.
I tried all the common alleged „fixes“...

Lenovo P43s won't boot with internal battery connected – looking for help diagnosing battery issue
      by code share
      Hi everyone,

I'm having an issue with my Lenovo ThinkPad P43s. The laptop does not power on when the internal battery is connected, but it works fine on AC power alone (battery disconnected). Once the battery is reconnected, the system becomes completely unresponsive — no lights, no fan spin, nothing.

Here's what I've tried so far:
      • Power/EC reset (held power button for 60 seconds with battery and AC disconnected)
      • Booted successfully on AC power only with the battery disconnected
      • Visual inspection of the battery — no swelling, burn marks, or connector damage
      • Battery
