    BD8616 circuit

Anyone came accross BD8616 circuit? It is used in e.g. Fujitsu Lifebook E752
    mainboard Ecp562713-x3
One pin connects Gate of the first mosfet. I have about 5V only on that Gate .
Unfortunatelly I did not find a datasheet.
Your help would be appreciated.Thank you

    Re: BD8616 circuit

I think I have a donor board with this charging IC and working main power rail. I'll try to take a look tomorrow.

However, if you're dealing with a P-Channel mosfet, 5V might be perfectly fine. Does the 19V pass the MOSFET or it doesn't?

      Thank you for your reply.

Yes, but I thought that P mosfet should have Gate grounded, that is there should be 0V or not?

And in case it were P-Channel mosfet, if I use 19V to gate, will the mosfet survive?

How do you test MOSFET in laptops ?
        by Jane
I tried to use this method:

        Testing an N-channel MOSFET:

Step 1: Discharge the Gate (turn off the MOSFET)
Place the black probe (COM) on the Source (S) and the red probe on the Drain (D). The multimeter should show no continuity (high resistance or "OL" – open line).
Then, touch the black probe to the Source (S) and the red probe to the Gate (G). This discharges any stored charge in the Gate, turning the MOSFET off.

Step 2: Charge the Gate (turn on the MOSFET)
Now, place the red probe on the Gate (G) and the black probe on the

MOSFET no voltage at gate Quanta G7HA DAG7HAMB8EO
        by irfan karatela
I'm working on a HP Pavilion Laptop Model 15-eh1508sa that is missing 19v. I've looked at the schematics and want to know what conditions the ISL9238C checks before it enables the gate for MOSFETs PQ8200 and PQ8201,

I havent found any shorts on the board.

I get 19v at +PRWSRC but around 1.7v at the Drain of PQ8201(+vin)

On Page 82 of the attachment. Link to schematic - https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...ilion-laptop-p...

PC Specialist / Clevo PC50DS - No Power
        by agoncarenko
Good time of day to all,

I have a laptop - PC Specialist PC50DS - that I am attempting to repair.
(Also manufactured and (was) sold under names of Clevo PC50DS and Schenker XMG 15 Pro)

        Laptop is:
        • Not powering on
        • Not taking charge.

Before I proceed, I would like to add some context: I am by no means experienced in laptop board repair. I have one repair under my belt, for which I had access to Boardview schematics (.brd), which helped me greatly by being able to see HOW and WHAT WITH each component interacts and "Follow the circuit"....

        Huawei Matebook D15 - DAH98AMBAD0 Rev.:D dead
        by Cecilius
Hi, I just come to this laptop with symptoms from owner - it stop charging. Thought it would be easy USB-C replacement (matebooks known issue) I took it. But port is good. After charging battery from power supply laptop is still dead. No power to EC chip. I'm out of ideas what to check next.

Next to 3.3V LDO which is only active rail after main rail is a circuit which sends voltage to EC chip. I don't understand at all function of this circuit. It consist of 2 PNP transistors few resistors and P-channel mosfet. Below is a circuit diagram of that part with explanation. Does anybody...
