    (No audio device) Macbook A1707 2017, 820–00928a

    Hi,
    I have a MacBook Pro 15 A1707, board number 820-00928a,
It's have an issue with the audio, In settings it has no audio output device,
I've tried to plug headphones and it didn't recognized it.
I have a schema for the board but it's hard for me to read it. I have some practice and I can solder skills, but it's hard for me to do some troubleshooting, but I know how to use multimeter, just please tell me in what mode need to fest the component [ diode mode, continuity, ohms mode, etc.. J

    Thanks

In the name of Fauda (Netflix) and Jaffa oranges, will try to help...

    1) you will need the boardview file to locate the parts that are shown in the schematic.

    2) What is the history of this laptop ? Was it brought in for repair ? Liquid damage? Any visible corrosion on the logic board ?

    3) Watch this video which is exactly on topic for your case. You should be able to check the voltages like he is doing but the repair may be a bit complex unless you have experience with WLCSP (very tiny) component repairs. Start with the voltage checks for the audio section.

Wow man! Much appreciated!! Really. Wow, I’m so thrilled by your reply. Thanks!!

It will take me some days to report back, as I’m an individual, i really don’t know the history of this laptop, but I do know this:
      1. It has the Flexgate which I successfully repaired myself.. so yes, I can do tiny components

      2. I saw some caps near the edges of the board that doesn’t look so good with some indications of corrosion, I cleaned it all with IPA, and the laptop is working now as my main laptop.. so it’s working great except some issues.

Thanks for your reply, and I will get back to you

        Macbook a1707 2017 model 820-00928 GPU issue
        by sofles
        Hello there

I have problem with Macbook Pro 15" 2017, model 2017, MB code 820-00928.

I bought it as broken with some artefacts on the screen, first I thought that this is problem with ribbon cable but after inspectiing ribbon cable I know it is fine. I tried to reinstall macOs and then I figured out that this must be something with GPU as installation freezes at the end (when drivers are loaded). I installed Windows and was able to install every each of drivers except GPU driver, as soon as I tried to install GPU driver - black screen and restart.

        Apple MacBook A1707 No Audio/Sound
        by tommy97
        Hi,

I'm having an issue with an A1707 MacBook Pro—there's no audio output. Initially, the MacBook came in with a no-power problem, and I found a faulty U6400, which I've now replaced. The laptop now powers on, but there's still no sound.

I've also replaced U6300, but the problem persists.

Here are the current voltage readings:
        • PPV18_S0: 1.8V
        • R6402: 1V
        • R6405: 1V
        • R6403: 1V
        • AUD_SPKRAMP_RESET_L: 1.3V
        • PPBUS: 12.6V

Help troubleshooting an audio problem with an RCA SGT-250 CED Player
        by samson7point1@yahoo.com
The Problem: This player has a toggle switch to select between Stereo, Mono R, and Mono L. Regardless of the setting it outputs the sound to both the L&R audio jacks. In the Mono R position, the audio output level is normal (from both the L and R audio output jacks), in the Stereo position the audio output is about half the volume, and in Mono L, it's about 3/4 the volume. Something about putting it into Stereo mode is causing the volume to drop significantly and I can't figure it out.

The player processes the audio signal using two different reference frequencies. The "R"...

Macbook a1707 820-00281 Battery no Power
        by leonemax81
Hi guys I have a Macbook a1707 with motherboard 820-00281, without liquid damage that behaves strangely, with the battery connected the Macbook does not turn on and the USBC meter stops at 5v in loop, when I disconnect the battery the Macbook turns on and works fine, I have already tried to replace the battery twice without success, as soon as I connect the black cable of the battery the Macbook does not turn on, it stops at 5v and in loop.

MacBook Air 2337 - Right I/O Board Audio IC - Alternative Replacement?
        by grimacelord
        Hello,

I'm working on a MacBook Air A2337 that had liquid damage on the right I/O board. I ultrasonic cleaned the board and it all functions except the computer has no audio. I tried reballing the audio IC which is TAS5770AC0, but that did not restore audio. I could just replace the entire board, but I wanted to see if replacing the audio IC would fix it first. Mouser has a similar audio IC in stock which is TAS5770LC0YFFR, but I wasn't sure if it is compatible. I was just wondering if anyone knew if I could use the one from mouser as an acceptable replacement or if I need to purchase...
