CHGR_ACOK is open drain output so is being pulled low by the ISL because of the bad input to pin 2. It is irrelevant till you sort that out. You may have introduced other issues though from component replacements.

Thanks for your help @reformatt. I replaced R7005 with a 20 ohm, and I got fan spin, and green light on charger

The joy was a bit short lived lol. After putting it into a chassis, theres no chime at power on, no display, and fan spins at full speed. Joy lol

You previously mentioned broken pin on RAM slot and you've also replaced the SMC. Are you sure the SMC you used is any good? Maybe reball the old one and put it back on. Review and triple check all your other work before proceeding further.

With the RAM, it should however boot on the one slot that is ok though (would beep at you otherwise). Maybe try known working Clean ME BIOS on U6100. Boards for this model are pretty cheap though if you want to toss it onto the donor pile.

I haven't replaced the SMC. I reballed the one that was on the board. I could try to change it, but I don't have any donor board at this stage. I will recehck my other work as well just in case, and going to check all of the power rails again to make sure there isn't still another issue.

Yeah thats what I was hoping to do. If I managed to fix the board, I would just use the one remaining slot, but the board doesn't even beep with no RAM at this stage.

What programmer do you recommend? I don't have one at this stage, and been wanting to get one but not sure what to get. Also is there a repository of known good BIOS files for each model somewhere, or is it a Google adventure each time?

Thanks @mon2. See my response to reformatt. I don't have a programmer, but going to try that and a possible SMC swap if I can find a cheap doinor board. (Anywhere you know of other than AliExpress lol?)

My regular programmer is a SVOD3 but it's a bit expensive if you aren't doing EC programming. I also have a T56 for some of the other stuff, but the interface is a bit convoluted compared to the SVOD. RT809F comes highly recommended by others but I haven't used it.

If you are looking for donors, use eBay for either faulty units or boards. Aliexpress boards are usually raped for anything useful. SMC's off these boards are normally corroded/delaminated. Only good for passive components or connectors really.

Thanks for the info. Will check out some of those models and see what will work for me. For now I have purchased a CH341A USB programmer and SOIC in circuit clamp, along with a WSON/USON adapter which looks like it should work as a temporary measure. Only a few dollars, so not a huge loss if it doesn't work well.

RE donor boards: yes learned my lesson with AliExpress donors lol. As you say, most good stuff is raped from board, and the rest are overheated, and normally all smeared to one side of the board, so not very useful.

Lenovo T460 Only Charges on One Charger

                      Laptop Question
                      Hello,
I'm working on a Lenovo T460 that has been having trouble charging as of late. Its worked well since I've owned it for a few years. When I went to use it the other day it was dead and wouldn't turn on (was sitting on an Anker 65W GaN charger). After some fiddling with the charger I got it to turn on and start charging, but seemed like the charger was not working as it should (took a few plug and unplug cycles to get it to start charging).

A day later it was dead again and wouldn't boot/charge no matter what I did. No lights or anything when...

Extreme High Current & Low Voltage Short Killer ??
                      by DynaxSC
                      Hi Folks

I'm looking for a extreme high current short killer solution for a reasonable cost.

I have an LGA1700 motherboard (ASUS PRIME Z790-P WiFi) where I exchanged the LGA socket already 3 times, and every time after the socket exchange I get a short of power supply lines VCORE (V variable) and VCCIN_AUX (1.8V).
After taking off the socket, the shorts dissappear again.
The soldermask on the socket is already partially demaged from the heat, so I have reconstructed the soldermask by manually painting the missing soldermask parts with a very small top of a...

The ISL88739 & ISL88739AHRZ are a highly versatile combo battery charger
configurable for operating as either a Hybrid Power Boost (HPB)
charger or a Narrow VDC (NVDC) charger, supporting 2-, 3-, or
4-cell batteries. Both configurations allow the battery to work with
the adapter together to supply the system load when it exceeds
the adapter capability, referred to as system Turbo mode. HPB
charger configuration reverse-boosts battery energy to the system

how to prevent a connected charger from draining battery when not charging?
                      by flat-earther
I have an RC radio handset(Taranis QX7) which doesn't have internal battery charger which means I had to remove the battery every time I needed to charge it.
So to improve it, I added a 15W USB-C charger board(link) inside and soldered it to the same connector on the PCB where the battery plugs into, great, now I can simply charge it with a USB-C cable.

but the problem I found is that after the radio sat for two weeks without being used the 2S 18650 battery that I'm using was at 4.2V!
So the battery is backfeeding the charger and being drained.

                      How can I prevent...

ASUS X54H laptop thinks it's always charging even with charger unplugged
                      by flat-earther
The charging indicator light on my ASUS X54H laptop is always on even when the charger is disconnected.

Windows also shows ''Plugged in'' when charger is not connected.

This problem started year ago gradually, when unplugging the charger the charging light took several seconds to disappear, then minutes, and now almost always on even when unplugged for an entire day.
Strangely, before sometimes immediately when plugging in the charger the charging light went away, and later came back with it connected.
If I let battery run out and say it has 3% Windows will...
