    Right Option Key not working (Macbook Pro A1398)

    Hi,

    have a Macbook Pro in front of me where the right option key isnt working. Changed the Keyboard/Topcase and the new one doesn't works, too.

    In the schematics it only shows a Left_Option_Key line so is the right option key even supposed to work on this model?

    Can anybody give me a hint what the problem should be?

    Thanks in advance

    How are you testing the RIGHT OPTION key ?

    Attempting to perform the SMC reset via keyboard keypress ?

    That is not possible as there is a hardware logic block (see attached) that is looking specifically for the LEFT side OPTION key and others to be pressed to perform the SMC reset. RIGHT OPTION key cannot be used for this purpose.

      Macbook Air 2020 (a2179) - touch id not working
      by obelix24
      Hi i have one Macbook Air 2020 where touch ID is not working (it's not scanning fingerprints). Touch ID was working before, there is no error message during scanning fingerprint it's just not scanning on screen you can see only fingerprint but there are no red updates as when it's working. Power button is working fine.

      I've checked boardview and also schematics but i'm not able to find anything related to TouchID ... i have similar issue on a2338 where there was problem with PP3V0_TOUCHID and after replacing UT610 it was working but here i'm not able to find anything related to...

      Macbook Air a1932 only right speaker working
      by obelix24
      I just got one macbook air a1932 that is fullu working (no signs of liquid damage but there is strange issue that only right speaker is working (that one that is connected directly to audio board)
      the other one is not working at all.

      i've tried to replace left speaker 3x and still no sound, i've also replaced audio board but still the same.

      Do you know what can cause this issue ?

      MacBook Pro A1989 trackpad and keyboard not working
      by biosdi
      Hi guys.
      I Just replaced battery on my MacBook Pro A1989. Unfortunately doing that, I’ve broken the trackpad flex cable (821-01701-a), and I’ve already ordered a spare one. At the same moment I’ve noticed that also the keyboard it’s not working anymore and I’ve found an SMD chip unsoldered and moving freely inside the backplate. I can read L20L on the chip. Is something could explain the keyboard not working or the keyboard doesn’t work due the unconnected trackpad?

      thanks...

      MacBook Air M2 820-02536 trackpad not working
      by daltonjr.
      Hi,

      I have this MacBook that I can not restore, because trackpad is not working. I have tried other topcases, trackpads, cables.... no success. I have replaced UT360 twice and UT320, no luck.

      Main power lines are present, but at:

      SPI_IPD_MOSI_CONN = 0V
      SPI_IPD_MCU_CS_CONN_L = 3.28V
      SPI_IPD_MISO_CONN = 0V
      IPD_SYS_AWAKE_CONN = 0V

      Maybe someone has better understanding of these circuits and can help. Thank you.
