    ProBook 440 G7 MDM removal

Its very common to remove MDM from Apple machines, however..

I received a ProBook 440 G7 in recycling from a client (it had a broken screen and they deemed it EoL).

Long story short after repairing it it has MDM. I can remove the BIOS password via editing the BIOS, no problem.. but MDM remains.

I know with Mac that the MDM is tied to an online registrar with serial numbers. Is this the same for Windows laptops? (typically to remove MDM we change the Serial number)

This laptop has an EC bios that cross checks the main bios and will "fix" any inconsistencies so if I have to do something there..

Anyone have experience cleaning MDM from bios?

    Thanks in advance!

Bricked HP Probook 450 G7 Bios questions
    by studdy05
Hp Probook 450 G7 s# SCD0348W35 had a locked BIOS. Bought BIOS and EC chips off Ebay that were supposed to match this machine - the 450 G7. Flashed in the BIOS on chip i bought using a CH341. BIOS unlocked next boot. Some error to contact HP. Entered BIOS and reset to system defaults and rebooted. Machine worked fine but every cold boot the contact HP message popped and everything else worked as fine. Assumed the error was from EC chip not matching BIOS that i just flashed in. So i flashed in the EC that was supposed to match from the EBay chip i bought and instant brick.

    Ive got...

    🛠️ MSI GP75 Leopard MS-17E71 – No Display, Deep BIOS/EC Troubleshooting
    by macabook
    Hello everyone,

I’m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, I’m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Here’s a full breakdown:
    🧩 Initial Issue
    • Board powers on (fans spin, keyboard lights up and can be adjusted, caps lock led lights), but no display or backlight
    • External display (HDMI) shows

Seeking help and advice to remove bios admin password – HP ProBook 4520s
    by Phad
    Dear All,

Hope that this post is at the right place of the forum.

I am seeking help and technical advice to remove bios admin password from HP ProBook 4520s.

The laptop is operating normally and, I am not facing any major issue with it except; the bios admin password that I found about by coincidence only few weeks back.

As the laptop is operating normally, I am reluctant to take it to a workshop to de-solder the bios chip in order to read it by an external programmer, as I am not an expert in doing such a thing.

    After...
