    HP 14am-dw1013dx no backligth

best regards, I need help with this laptop with a LAIKA-6050A3202801-MB-A02 (A2) motherboard

the problem it presents is that it doesn't illuminate the screen, I have voltage on the card and also on the screen but it doesn't illuminate and I can't find the schematic.

Anyone who can guide me to find the problem, I would greatly appreciate it

Hi. What voltage do you have ? Is it the backlight voltage ? Voltage value ?

Would have the markings on the LCD display screen to identify the model used in this laptop ?

Most laptops are LVDS / eDP interface style and they seem to have a common pinout. Perhaps we can locate the display connector pinout once the display details are known. Then you can find the backlight voltage pin and trace it back to the boost circuit to investigate further. This is assuming that you have a LED backlight style of display.

    Post more specific details.

Thank you, I send a photo of the screen model.

The motherboard is sending 13.21v to the screen.

The picture helps. This is an eDP interfaced display with 30 pins.

See attached for the eDP pinout.

To confirm our understanding of the pinout, remove all power. Then perform a resistance check with:

meter lead on pin # 29 - next meter lead on # 28 - resistance should be ~0 ohms. Then continue to test 29 to 26. This will confirm the backlight cluster of pins.

Can you confirm the backlight voltage for this connector ?

I have the same problem, the screen lights up when I disconnect the flex from the detachable usb port, but when I turn off the equipment it locks up and no longer turns on until I disconnect the main battery
