There has to be a local resistor on the pin # 5 trace or perhaps is missing due to a drop of the unit ?
This local pull-up resistor will then go to an always ON rail that must be powered from your battery supply. Assuming the battery is charged, the open drain ACOK# line should float to the ALWAYS ON rail value.
If the adapter is mated, this ACOK# should be LOW (0v).
