    MPB 2015 820-00138 PPBUS_G3H short

Device came in previously for right side fan not working and randomly shutting down. I replaced the right side fan socket (was burnt) and changed the 3 CPU mosfets since they are the usual suspects and all went well. A week after the customer said it won't boot. He also said the charger will light only if he connects it to another macbook first. A couple days after he said it booted and eventually it stopped booting but charger lights were green to orange.
I opened it up and L7130 is 0.5ohm to gnd. The board is still in and thermal camera shows U7310 heating up with charger connected/ battery disconnected but it does not "feel" hot. PPVIN_S5_HS_OTHER3V3_ISNS is also 0.5ohm to gnd. as is L7310, L7320, L7330. PPBUS_G3H to L7310, L7320, L7330 also measures 0.5ohm.
According to Mr. Rossman..... this is always a dead CPU.... I'm hoping he is wrong this time.

Take off the CPU heatsink, do voltage injection at L7310 with 1V and check with thermal camera. I've yet to see a short on these low voltage rails that isn't a PCH or CPU so I'd say Louis is probably right.

Macbook Pro mid 2015 battery required to boot?
      by twonk9098
I have read many forums that state the Macbook Pro 2015 needs / does not need a battery to boot. I'm not convinced as yet which is correct.
The Macbook Pro mid 2015 I have has no battery and do not really want to buy one just to test.
This model has the newer trackpad which is not clickable when turned off.
At the moment, without battery it does turn on with no display (with backlight), no chime and then turns off after 13 seconds. I see this from the power draw on my DTPS.
If I hold the power button whilst connecting the magsafe 2 charger it turns on, again no image but...

      820-00426 (A1398 2015) no trackpad, no keyboard.
      by nicocorradini
Hi! I have this 2015 A1398 with 820-00426 board that's driving me crazy. It originally came because of charging problems (MagSafe Board roasted, also MagSafe cable, etc. After disassembly, clean and assembly, my assistant (literally) broke FL803 and other componentes. Obviously, no screen or backlight. After replacing them, and also the LVDS connector, and LVDS flex on the screen, the board started fine, charges, chimes, shows Apple Logo, but surprise: no more trackpad or keyboard.

      Important notes:
-Click works, so, trackpad is alive.
      -Already tried with another trackpad,...

Macbookpro 2015 not turn on after long sleep
      by ratoesan79
      Greeting..

After a long sleep, my macbook pro 2015 a1502 won't turn on.

When it is charged, it can be seen that the light is green then orange, but with SMC Reset and NVRAM both cannot also solve this problem.

After I opened the bottom cover, I saw the fan spinning for a short time for about 1 second when the power button was pressed

guess what I should check first,

Oh I already have the scheme, it's just that I don't know where to start the inspection?

      Need BIOS/EFI dump for MacBook Air A1466 2015 EMC 2925 (8gb)
      by yura8
Hi there! I have not so usual situation...

I have 2015 MacBook Air A1466 EMC 2925 with 8Gb of RAM. It seams that I've killed it by bad SSD adapter. It starts, cooler works... But no chime, screen is black. SMC reset seams works, NVRAM reset doesnt works...

My repair guy has checked all possible. It's all ok with power. The last idea - I could kill EFI firmware... So, I need a firmware of EFI to check it. I have a programmer. But I don't have a similar laptop now to download it and compare

P.S. If you have else any ideas about repair, or you had a similar...

820-4924-A MBPr 2015 running slow, possible ME Region?
      by aqibi_
      MBPr 2015 13" Early 2015 820-4924-A

Running slow, with SMC bypass works fine:

It has a NVME SSD Crucial P2 (1TB), tried another NVME adapter too.

      - No water indicators tripped
      - Sensors using iStat /HW show sensible values, only airport showing 129 degree (which is common) since we don't have ASD for this year board.

I have removed and dumped the EFI/BIOS:
      - does cleaning the ME Region make sense?

      Side notes
      1) I do not have the original nor compatible SSD to test with
      2) battery is showing service...
