2014 Macbook Pro 15" mosfet replacement issue

Hi, I replaced CPU mosfets in an 820-3662A board and I'm not getting any voltage on the coils. I'm not getting PP5V_S0 either. PPBUS_G3H and PP3V42_G3H are present, getting green and orange light on the charger. Does this board need to connected to more than the dc-in board to power up? Any advice on how to move forward would be appreciated. I did a 2015 cpu mosfet replacement just before and all went well.

Oh no.... I just realized I posted in the wrong section. Mods, please excuse me.

Ok, so I put the board back in the case and it only boots with the battery connected, is this normal or signs of another issue? I get green and orange lights and charging symbol.

Always make sure the correct AC adapter was used with the machine. Genuine original AC adapter of the correct brand and correct power rating.

Thanks piernov, this of course raises another question..... how can we identify a genuine apple charger? With the range of prices out there, I could only imagine there are non-genuine ones that make it to owners. BTW, I used the same charger on a 2015 MBP just yesterday and it worked fine.

MacBook A1989 BT/WLAN Issue, Questions, or Replacement Requests
              by EvilSnowtech
Hello members of the repair forum,

I'm facing an issue with my MacBook A1989, where I encountered a short circuit on PP1V8_G3S for reasons unknown. After removing the audio amplifier and MIC, the resistance values returned to normal.

However, during testing, I found that attempting to enable Bluetooth yields no response. Bluetooth cannot be activated, and the PP1V8_G3S-to-ground resistance value is approximately 285. I suspect that PP1V8_G3S_WLANBT_VDDIO may, under certain conditions, exceed 1.8v, potentially causing damage to the Bluetooth module. I am considering replacing...

              HP probook 4510s mosfet issue
              by Cuboy
              Hello,

I am currently trying to help a ONG by volunteering to help repair laptops, it's something that i have been into since 2017, always watching videos, on discords, forums etc...

I have an HP ProBook 4510s laptop that does not power on and has no indicator lights, which suggests an issue with the power supply or the motherboard.

I started by verifying that there is voltage at the input of the motherboard, confirming that the power adapter is working correctly. However, when I checked the voltage at the output of the first MOSFET (Q1032), I found 19V at...

PS4 controller left stick potentiometer replacement issue
              by ezenia
              Hello,

Not sure if this is the correct section, but I have a PS4 controller that I am trying to fix. It developed stick drift on the left stick and the usual simpler methods did not fix the problem.

So I went on eBay and ordered some replacement potentiometers. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174967976757 is where I got them from.

I took the green potentiometers off the replacement sticks and soldered them onto the PCB. Assembled the controller and ran some tests. The drifting was somewhat fixed (not fully in center, but way better than before). However,...

Subject: Help Needed: MacBook A1278 (3115) No PPBUS_G3H Issue

              Hello everyone,

I'm working on a MacBook A1278 with the 3115 logic board and facing an issue with no PPBUS_G3H voltage. Here's what I've checked so far:
              1. U7000 Measurements:
                • Pin 3 has 0V, even though R7012 shows 16.5V from PPDCIN_S5_CHGR.
              2. Resistors:
                • I measured R7010 and R7011 with one leg disconnected, and both tested OK.

Based on these findings, I believe U7000 needs to be replaced. However, I have a related question:
              • If I also decide to replace the SMC, do I need to order it pre-programmed,

              Macbook a1707 2017 model 820-00928 GPU issue
              by sofles
              Hello there

I have problem with Macbook Pro 15" 2017, model 2017, MB code 820-00928.

I bought it as broken with some artefacts on the screen, first I thought that this is problem with ribbon cable but after inspectiing ribbon cable I know it is fine. I tried to reinstall macOs and then I figured out that this must be something with GPU as installation freezes at the end (when drivers are loaded). I installed Windows and was able to install every each of drivers except GPU driver, as soon as I tried to install GPU driver - black screen and restart.
