Hi, I have repaired the DC charging jack on my daughter's Samsung Np3530EC laptop, the laptop doesn't turn on with the charger and no LED'S light up, if I put in a charged battery from my other identical laptop it will power up and turn on, so it only switches on with the battery not the power supply which I can confirm 100%works. I have tested the motherboard power and I have 19volts on the board at the DC jack, so I know the charger and DC port are okay.I have checked the schematic diagram for the laptop and immediately after the DC jack are two smd components which seem to link one track on the board to another, I get 19v on one side but virtually nothing on the other side, they are plain black rectangles with silver ends with no numbers on the top, I'm struggling to identify them, could they be jumpers, resistors or inverters? Where can I buy them and how can I find the correct values? They are on the picture to the left of the DC power jack situated side by side,Thanks, any help appreciated....cheers

Re: Laptop not turning on with power supply
Hi, thanks for the reply, I have tested continuity of the two coils and they have continuity in diode/continuity mode of my multimeter of around .002 ohms, should I see 19v in and out of these coils ? I will post a pic of the schematic diagram, thanks

Re: Laptop not turning on with power supply
If by accident I found the problem, I checked the board again going over the continuity of the coils but I forgot to disconnect the power supply so when I probed the one coil it sparked as it made contact with the solder pad it's supposed to be soldered to, I've reflowed both coils adding a tiny bit of solder now it works!!
Thanks again for the help
