    Question Regarding T2 Chip (Apple)

Ok so a few things. I imagined the T2 was not crackable but it looks as if they have cracked it and now are doing T2 iCloud activation.

Here is a listing I found that made me raise this question.

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/114577867115

If this is possible is this a software related unlock or is there a tool, or do we need to solder? I am really curious as to how we can do this because we all should be passing this information on. Thoughts? Also it seems they have cracked the iCloud permanently as I read in that listing. I am interested to know. Thanks!

It is a public hack that uses USB Type C cable with another remote PC and then an exploit is applied.

Somewhere I recall reading about the full process - maybe on Github but pretty sure it was a (free) public procedure.

    update #2:

emailed the link a number of weeks ago for this pre-sales interest for the cable - no reply to date.

We have studied the USB Type C interface for a while (actually since PD1.0) and this hack is sending out communications over the CC1 / CC2 lines for the exploit. Typically these lines are used to negotiate power delivery contracts which they warn should not be thrown out at the target PC else you will dial up perhaps some dangerous voltage. Do not know beyond this but it is a very interesting subject.

Interesting is this what these people are doing? That’s pretty dang risky imo.

So in theory do you believe this is the exploit unlocking T2 chips and resetting them? We would like to find a way to do this. We have a good amount of locked devices in great condition we want to unlock from a wholesale purchase lot. We kept them on standby so we can push them when the time comes the unlock becomes available. It seems it is now possible. We just want to find a way to do this.
