    820-3476 dead

hi all, i got this mainboard from a repair shop telling me it didnt power on. when i got the board, i see that green-orange light on charger was present, ppbus was present, 3.3 s5 were present but all other volts were missing. that board got water spill around U3310, but the previous shop cleaned the board and replaced some caps, so it is much harder for me to see if some other component is bad.

after some measurement, i see that if i remove u8030, i got 5volt s0, ddr volt and all vots coming (except 3.3 s0 ofcourse and u8030 got volts in, enable pin and no vout obviously). u6100 pin 1,2,3,5,6,7,8 got 3.2 volts, i removed jtag as on some forum i see one dude having that exact same problem like this and solved the no power when u8030 is soldered, but without jtag i have still same problem.

without u8030 i have fan spinning at max,

now i see ppvcc_s0_cpu resistance to 001 on multimeter in diode mode and if i put 1 volt on cpu coil i see it absorb current and cpu get hot.

now that sounds like a cpu short to gnd, but to be sure that my problem is the cpu, i would like to know if someone else encountered my same problem, i replaced u8030 2 times and u1950 once, but still no go.

    if i solder back u8030, 3.3 s4 is 0.5 volt.

if i remove u8030 and connect magsafe, then inject 3.3 on s0 rail ( that take 0.07A) all s0 volts stop working.

if u have any expecrience i would like to learn more about that problem.

also all other voltage like rtc ecc ecc are present., but with u8030 i lose most of enable volts.o

Always use resistance mode not diode mode to measure power rails to ground.

Then yes it's dead. It's supposed to be above 50 ohms, at the very least 20 ohms.

PS5 digital / No Power / No Beep / Good power supply
          by MisterAIL
          Hi everyone,

Brought a non functionnal PS5. Apparently only a bad PSU...
          No beep, nothing.

After some tests i found this :
          - PSU is fine (12 volts stable)
          - 12 volts line is shorted
          - DA9065 was fried, F7003 also => Replaced both of them, short is gone on 12 volts line, no dead short anywhere else.
          - By the way, nothing change. No signal, no power, no beep.

Mesuring all rails with my workbench psu (12 volts input)
          - 0.00 amp drawing
          - 12 volts, 5 volts, 2 volts, 1,15 volts are presents (suppose new DA9065 do is...

Lenovo ideapad 330ICH - Dead, no volts on coils
          by Nagyesz
Hi everyone, I replaced this motherboard because it was important to get it working, but it's been with me for a very long time. Now I finally have time to figure out what the problem is,
          I've never encountered something like this before;

          No charging light, full dead

          Zephyrus G14 GA401QM dead
          by Ghostalker
Hello I have an ASUS Zephyrus Laptop (Model GA401QM), bought on ebay and the previous owner claims he was using and the laptop stopped, He then tried to change battery and broke the connector on the battery and also on ripped a GND pad on the MB.

I was searching on internet and found two posts on this forum about a similar problem “ASUS ROG G14 (GA401) battery spark, dead.” and “Dead ASUS ROG G14 (GA401)” both by the user jacobtc.

I already made some measurements based on the “Dead ASUS ROG G14 (GA401)” post using GA401QM schematic provided here and Boardview provided...

          MacBook Air 13" A2179 2020. 5Volts .250 amps issue
          by Stephen
Customer came in with shorted USB C chips, replaced and the chips are now responding beautifully HOWEVER, I am only getting 5Volts .25 amps (sometimes .243 amps) I see that the T2 chip is turning on, but I am not seeing any voltage at the SSD rails for example,
PP5VG3S_EN is not present which would somewhat indicate a PMIC U7800 issue, but I checked the voltage on the PMIC and that is present and not shorted. I tested for PP5V_G3S and those rails are not present.

ISL9240HI is present, I am also getting 12.30 volts at PPBUS_G3H so no shorts there. Both CD3217 chips were successfully...

Dead Dell Latitude 5420 not receiving 20 volts from USB-C charger
          by BTubbs200
          Hello,

          Dell Latitude 5420 P137G
          Board: LA-K491P REV A01

I have received this laptop which was described as "does not power on or accept charge." Battery shows no sign of charging when charger is plugged in, nor does the board show any signs of life when battery is unplugged and charger is plugged in. No light from the LED at all or any other indications of activity.

Board seems to have no shorts, all power rails are fine and show high resistance.

When charger is plugged in, voltage is present in 3.3V rail but absent in others....
