Request for info on a SPI ROM part

Hello guys and gals on this forum.
I may be posting in the wrong section, if so, would a Mod please put it in the relevent forum.

After information on a SPI Flash ROM for availability and/ or an alternative.
In situ at the moment is a Macronix MXIC MX25U8033E M21-12G SOP8 IC

I know this is a 1.8v chip. The Laptop ( Acer Aspire A314-31) has suffered liquid ingress where there was no power. I have solved the power side of things, so I now get power on/ battery showing as charging etc, but no display. I have a Chipmunk ( normally use this on Apple machines) which seems to work on PC based laptops as well, that shows me the CPU is doing nothing. Upon removal of the adapter whilst powered on does give a beep indicating its removal... so there is life there somewhere.

There was a little corrosion around the SPI ROM which I have cleaned but no further forward.
I have removed the SPI ROM and placed it on my programmer (CH341A) with the 1.8v adapter and it reads as a 4MB/32Mbit unit. The data sheets show this as a 8Mb/ 32Mbit unit and this is further confirmed by the BIOS file ( found at this link:- https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=67716 )
I feel the SPI ROM is damaged and wish to get another..... even though I can find data sheets, I can not find a source. Aliexpress do not have any, well the ones they do have not got the code M21-12G, which I believe is the package type.
Can anyone tell me if there is an alternative SPI ROM I can use ( Winbond etc), or even better if someone has the said IC on a dead donor board, able to supply it.

    Any help is greatfully received.
    Thanks for you time folks

They are not. Dual SPI/Quad SPI mode, different clock tolerance, different command sets… In a lot of cases it'll work, but better use the same one or at least pick on in the VSCC table to avoid issue with ME/TXE.

The MX25U8033E isn`t supported by the CH341A software that you`re currently using, thats why the chip size reads differently. Try NeoProgrammer software instead, its supports the MX25U8033E. You just have to change the language to english, choose CH341A as the hardware and select the chip manually. If you want your bios fixing post it in the "Bios Requests ONLY!" section .

I will give that a go. i am going to try the new software first. If that fails I will be back on the hunt for a SPI ROM
              Thanks for the advice SMDFlea.

Finding the wrong part at a loooong led strip, part works fine, part flickers, all parallel...
                by edugimeno
                Hi There!
I'm trying to help my friend who owns a restaurant be just bought.
He has a very long LED strip running along all the walls and columns. The strip is attached facing down 2in above the floor, using a wall panel that ends in a metal rail that finishes the panel underneath
It's stuck using, I guess, the 2 sided tape that comes with the strip
The issue is that like 1/2 of the full length, including 1/2 one wall, another entire wall, and one column, flickers after 4 or 5 minutes ON. Particularly it flashes staying OFF most of the time and flashing ON for 1 tenth...

i contacted my technician and he sent me his BoardVIew screenshot in 3rd Photo. In his Boardview the part is called X2826.... Something

SO My main concern is what part should i order what should i search the name for ?

Panasonic part number in service manuals
                by Yanleb
In the Panasonic service manuals, both in the board schematics and in the part listing, the part numbers that are given are Panasonic part numbers instead of the actual part numbers.

This is especially annoying for small SMD components like diodes and transistors when you only have 1-3 digits printed on the component body.

For an example, look at the attached PDF.

Do you have a way to cross reference the Panasonic part number with the actual part number?

                Thanks....

Trouble to identify part (Lunii screen) for replacement
                by FreakyMex
Hello guys. I'm a complete noob in electronics. I'd like to repair my child Lunii's (a "story box"), basically an audio player that allows the childs to choose between several options the places, characters, objects of the story, and then play a story according to the choice of the child. There is a screen that display the selected option before each choice. The Lunii fell and the screen is now broken.
I'd like to repair it (probably just have to change the part, because the lunii still works perfectly fine) but I can't manage to identify the part/order it online. Do you have any...
