Re: Apple A2251 820-01949
Thank you Mon2, your advise was spot on. I can clarify the power button has failed.
I used RE030 as it was on the bottom side of the board so it could be tested in situ. I found that RE030 and RE031 are connected using FexBV .
Once again, thanks for your help and assistance.
Wish you a happy new year...

That's what I was thinking... jus was not sure. I am back in the workshop tomorrow so will try then.just for informational purposes... Reading the schematic is like reading a map for me. It's the abrievations.. I get letters and numbers mixed up so things don't make sense... but I do get there... eventually...lol...

Re: Apple A2251 820-01949
It does negotiate to 20v and will power on once it hits 20v.
Once booted the machine works as normal, adapter is detected. If i let it run down to 80% and connect the charger it does charge back to 100%
I am leaning towards a power button now as it seams to do nothing. I have tried to replicate the process of when it powers down and before the voltage drops to 5.1v I press it to power back on but to no avail. Is there a way of powering on without connecting the adapter, like it was with the earlier macbook's by shorting...

Apple A2251 820-01949
Hi everyone. Looking for a few pointers. Above mentioned machine. There was corrosion around the U6300 area, basically from C2842_r to U4910.
The corrosion was not heavy. I have cleaned the effected area, replaced the L6302 as the pads were damaged, so cleaned the pads and replaced the component ( L6200 from a 820-4924-A). Tested all cap's in the area for shorts ( none found)
The machine will only BOOT if the adapter is plugged in. Automatically BOOT's. If the machine is powered down, it will not boot up unless the adapter is disconnected and reconnected. The adapter is detected OK...Last edited by pc1staid; 12-28-2022, 06:56 AM.

Dell Inspiron 15 5575 LA-F121p
Hi everyone.
I have a small issue with the above mentioned laptop. Originally came in for a broken DC socket with the socket inner ferrel stuck in the adapter head
The adpater is not being detected, not matter which adapter I use. I have 2x45w and a 65w genuine Dell adapter and I am getting the same issue with all 3. Taken the mainboard out and found a blown diode.
Using the schematic found here https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=97207 using page 46 as reference, I have taken the following...

Asrock X470D4U server board.
Hi all. I cant find a forum for server boards so if this post is in the wrong forum, would an admin please move it the correct one.
I have a customers board here that was working fine pre upgrade with another CPU.
The CPU that was in situ and working fine was an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X. It was upgraded with a AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 4750G. To make this work the BIOS needed upgrading as well. Stock was version 3.10, was upgraded to 3.30 then for this CPU upgrade it was raised to 3.50. When the reflash had finished, a report that it completed successfully was seen ( not done by me, by the customer)....Last edited by pc1staid; 06-18-2021, 11:04 PM.

Re: Betty R6_MB mainboard no power
I assumed as much. Mainly as all fuses across the board all had the input voltage. Like the one by the battery, I would have guessed that would have been in the 12v area not nearly double that....

Betty R6_MB mainboard no power
Hi All,
Got the above mentioned board with no power.
It doesn't take a lot, I am confused.
This is what I have done so far:-
19.5v going in. Followed this thread:- https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=87414&page=1
Everything seems to tally with the advice offered. Get the correct readings of 19.5v where is supposed to be. On the two large coils ( pic 2) where I would expect the 3v and 5v to be I get nothing. However on the + of the power button there is 3.1v, so obviously the 3v is being produced.
Here is the confusing part, every...Last edited by pc1staid; 03-30-2021, 02:52 AM.

Re: Hp 15-bw069sa la-e841p
I will reload win 7 and try again.
In addition to above
Have you tried legacy mode in bios and disable secure boot [/QUOTE}
Only for the Win 7 install but not the Win 10 install as it was UEFI with the original install. I will give that a go as well.Re: Hp 15-bw069sa la-e841p

Re: Hp 15-bw069sa la-e841p
As in the first post, changed RAM, HDD to SSD, used both a SSD and a HDD with windows pre-installed, tried multiple versions of Windows 10 ( 1903 to 20h2), detached all cables connecting all daughter boards/ drives/ keyboard/ trackpad etc, tried clean installing and even just booting to a USB with Windows install on ( loops twice then hits the psycedelic screen), run directly to a monitor, flashed the BIOS with the original shipping BIOS and the latest BIOS, even swapped the mainboard.
I totally get it is a compatibility...

Windows 7 failed to load. BSOD 0X0000007B, No boot device.
Oddest thing is, the machine was shipped with Win 10.
