    Hi all, i would like to learn to repair pcb, i'm tring to repair a macbook air 1466 with mb 820-00165-A

    I got ppbus_g3h about 0,9-0,8V, fuse is ok,
    PP3V42_G3H present

    the only thing i can notice is a burn on the cable of the display

    What can i check ?

    thanks.

    check voltages without anything else attached - only dc-in board. Measure resistance on ppbus_g3h.

          Removed fuse F7140 still have low voltage on ppbus_g3h

          checked PPDCIN_G3H, 1,7V goes down to 0,8V

          PPDCIN_G3H_ISOL : 15V

          hope to find the sort :-)

            Not possible. PPDCIN_G3H_ISOL is derived from PPDCIN_G3H.

              Sorry, my mistake,
              PPDCIN_G3H = 15,04V and also PPDCIN_G3H_ISOL

              PPDCIN_G3H_INRUSH = 0,9V
              CHGR_SGATE_DIV = 0,9V

              PP5V1_CHGR_VDD = 5,14V
              PP5V1_CHGR_VDDP = 5,14V

                What about ACIN and DCIN of U7100? Resistance between pins 17/18 and between pins 27/28 of U7100?

                EDIT: and resistance between pins 26/27 of U7100 as well

                  CHGR_ACIN = 3,92 V
                  CHGR_DCIN = 14,72V

                  resistance between pins 17 and 18 is 3,4 ohm
                  resistance between pins 26 and 27 is 164,9 kohm

                    And between 27/28? If it's 20 ohms you can try replacing U7100.

                      Yes, between 27/28 of U7100 resistance is 20,1 ohms

                      can i use a new U7100 ?

                      I also have another board with fan that spins but not boot

                        Hi everyone!

                        I have a 2018 MacBook Pro (with Sequoia OS) that I've been using for years with no problem. I recently received an M2 MacBook Pro so I'm mostly using it and not the 2018 one, but since a friend of mine needs a computer, I thought I could restore my 2018 and give it brand-new-like to my friend.

                        I tried using the built-in tool to restore the MacBook (Settings > General > Transfer or restore > Delete) but it got stuck when trying to remove the Find Device configuration (it asked me for the password for my old Apple ID -now I use the same account but...

                        HELLO FELLOW COLLECTORS, How are you doing, I hope GOD always gives us good health, I'm here asking for help to work on this MacBook Air, to be honest, this is the first time I'm dealing with a MacBook machine, and I immediately decided that the ISL 6259 IC and after I replaced it it still didn't work and I found that the CHGR_CSO_N & CHGR_CSO_P pins had a short circuit.

                        can anyone help me guys?

                        MacBook AIR 1466 [ 820-00165-A] = Missing "PM_SLP_S5_L"

                        Hi
                        MacBook AIR 1466
                        MB: 820-00165-A

                        I followed the power scheme https://logi.wiki/images/a/af/G3_-_S...ell.drawio.png. I have all voltages up to "PM_SLP_S5_L" = 0V. When I plug the charger it tries to power on, goes to 0,250A then goes to 0,023A and does nothing. No fan spin.

                        I'm confused, board looks good under microscope. No corrosion.

                        General question about MacBook power rails for repair.
                        by SarcasticOP
                        I am looking at an A2337 and found this for the order of power rails and what they do. Can this be confirmed before I dive into hunting down power rails that do not exist or are not neccisary?
                        • PPBUS_G3H (12.6V-12.8V)
                          • This is the main power rail that supplies power to the entire system. Check this rail first, as it must be present for other power rails to work.
                        • PP3V42_G3H (3.42V)
                          • This power rail is derived from PPBUS_G3H and is used to power the SMC (System Management Controller) and other essential circuits. It should be present if PPBUS_G3H is working correctly.
                        • PPVRTC_G3H (3.3V)
