    MACBOOK AIR 1466 DEAD

HELLO FELLOW COLLECTORS, How are you doing, I hope GOD always gives us good health, I'm here asking for help to work on this MacBook Air, to be honest, this is the first time I'm dealing with a MacBook machine, and I immediately decided that the ISL 6259 IC and after I replaced it it still didn't work and I found that the CHGR_CSO_N & CHGR_CSO_P pins had a short circuit.

    can anyone help me guys?

The pins will appear to be shorted because of the very low current sense resistor between the 2 pins. Review the schematic to confirm.

    Review this flow chart:

Thank you for the time you gave to help me, after I checked the flowchart you gave, in the measurements from above, PP5V1_CHGR_VDD was not present, sir.

        ** revised post **

Measure the resistance to ground of U7100 - PP5V1_CHGR_VDD. Usually this means that U7100 is defective and needs to be replaced but share the measurements first.

hi, thanks for your response and direction for me,

here are the measurements with diode mode:

          pin:
          1. CHGR_AGATE 537 ohm
          2. CHGR_DCIN 524 ohm
          3. CHGR_ACIN 457 ohm
          4. CHGR_VFRQ 392 ohm
          5. CHGR_ICOMP 592 ohm
          6. CHGR_CELL 99 ohm
          7. CHGR_VCOMP 565 ohm
          8. CHGR_VNEG 460 ohm
          9. CHGR_AMON 574 ohm
          10. SMBUS_SMC_5_G3_SDA 452 ohm
          11. SMBUS_SMC_5_G3_SCL 456 ohm
          12. PP3V42_G3H 246 ohm
          13. CHGR_RST_L 505 ohm
          14.SMC_BC_ACOK 404 ohms
          15. CHGR_BMON 577 ohms
          16. CHGR_BGATE 554 ohms
          17. CHGR_CSO_N 371 ohms
          18. CHGR_CSO_P 592 ohms
          19. PP5V1_CHGR_VDD 395ohm
          20. PP5V1_CHGR_VDDP 401 ohms
          21. CHGR_LGATE 372 ohms
          22. gnd
          23. CHGR_PHASE 371 ohms
          24. CHGR_UGATE 644 ohms
          25. CHGR_BOOT 501 ohms
          26. CHGR_SGATE 545 ohms
          27. CHGR_CSI_N 617 ohms
          28. CHGR_CSI_P 533 ohms

And after I replaced U7100, now PP5V1_CHGR_VDD has shown 5v, but the gate on the Q7130 mosfet has not opened.

does this mean the new U7100 is also damaged?

Where these measurements in DIODE mode or RESISTANCE mode?

In DIODE mode, these will be voltage measurements so each line will be in units of volts. For example, line 28 = 0.533 volts. Please confirm.

What is the exact voltage to ground of PPBUS_G3H @ F7140?

Sorry sir, I was wrong, my measurement above was diode mode with the red probe position on ground, and for the PPBUS_G3H @ F7140 line it was 378 in diode mode

I don't think there is a short here, correct me if I'm wrong?

                17. CHGR_CSO_N 371 ohms
                18. CHGR_CSO_P 592 ohms
Was expecting both pins to have similar measurements. Configure the meter to resistance mode. If manual meter, select the lowest resistance scale. Place one meter probe directly on pin 17 and the other probe directly on pin 18. No power to the board.

What is the exact measurement in ohms? This is the full current sense path resistance for the battery charge circuit. Does the resistance match the schematics?

                  MacBook Pro 2018 - A1990 Dead - not charging - only 5V
                  by robka
                  Hi,

                  my MacBook Pro 15" 2018 Touch Bar (A1990) doesn't charge anymore. Board# 820-01041-A

I'm not experienced in diagnostics, but I want to try to solve the problem with your help, because every local shop charges around 600€ (650 usd). Which is the value of the whole Macbook.

The Macbook was charging when suddenly the "charging sound" appeared every other second for around 4-5 times.
After that the Macbook was dead. It isn't charging anymore.

The USB-C Port where the charger was plugged is burned. Also The Cable and the...

MacBook Pro 2011 turns on with keyboard light , screen dead
                  by Rav_tangle
Hi all , thanks for having me & I think this has been asked before but my case seems a bit odd.
I have a MacBook Pro , board 820-2915a and it turns on , chimes etc etc , keyboard lights up, fans spins , can turn caps lock on/off but screen is dead.
Iv tried the resets , shine torch through back logo , nothing , it seems the screen has no power. If I plug charger , it charges but if I disconnect battery it displays green light but won't turn on. Iv tried screen on with another board & it works & seems I'm not getting any voltage at pin 2 , next to ground pin .
                  is this...

A2681 M2 MacBook Air Dead Logic Board
                  by yuuki47
                  Hello...

My sister purchased an M2 MacBook Air a year and a half ago. While she was using it a week ago, it randomly shut off and no longer powers on. There are no signs of life and not even the MagSafe indicator LED lights up.

We took it to Apple and they disconnected the battery and tried a bunch of stuff before they declared the logic board "brain dead" and quoted us about £567 to replace it. Typical of them...

eBay replacements run about £367 with the Touch ID sensor included.

I did consider to probe the logic board for shorts...

                  by envym
                  Hi everyone!

I have a 2018 MacBook Pro (with Sequoia OS) that I've been using for years with no problem. I recently received an M2 MacBook Pro so I'm mostly using it and not the 2018 one, but since a friend of mine needs a computer, I thought I could restore my 2018 and give it brand-new-like to my friend.

I tried using the built-in tool to restore the MacBook (Settings > General > Transfer or restore > Delete) but it got stuck when trying to remove the Find Device configuration (it asked me for the password for my old Apple ID -now I use the same account but...

I did smc reset and the laptop started . I have to reset the SMC every time to turn it on. It does not turn on without resetting the SMC. Sometimes it starts without resetting the SMC.
