Alienware 17 r4 bios chip location?

Hope this is in the right spot, i'm not asking for bios files just some help figuring things out

So. i have an alienware 17 r4 in with motherboard la-d751p bap10.. Dell released bios for it that bricks it and thats what happened, bad enough that bios recovery doesn't work. Laptop worked perfect until this bios upgrade..

I ordered a programmer and am reading/watching videos on how to flash it, my main question is, has anyone here done one of these and if so do you know the location of the bios chip? (I haven't pulled the board out yet but am trying to get my ducks in a row beforehand..)

Second, i haven't done chip programming before but it looks simple enough except.. should i just be able to extract the rom out of the dell bios file with -writerom (or whatever the command is) and just flash it? or do i need to do something else special?

Thanks a ton guys.. i hate to give up on a $2k laptop over something this dumb..

Programmer showed up, tried the file above but no post, no beeping at least, but the power LED is showing unknown CPU..

They made this laptop with a kaby and skylake cpus.. think i need to find a different bios file.

SPI ROM for main BIOS is located near PCH.

My pc updated bios through Windows Update and I was greeted with BLACK SCREEN WITH CPU FAN MAX SPEED. I don't think there is even a screen signal, because it triggers my monitor for a couple seconds and then the monitor turns off. I tried the other outputs as well.
                              1. I tried clearing bios, resetting bios, removed the CMOS battery, removed m.2 ssd, wifi, and ram. Still black screen with CPU fan blasting.
                              2. I tried using the Lenovo BIOS CD and BIOS USB, but neither worked. At least I couldn't get anything to work.
                              3. I could only locate two chips that look like bios chips. Could someone verify this

Asus Chromebox CN62 - wrong chip put on BIOS reader
                              by BMCappelletti
                              Long story short:
                              - dad converted Asus Chromebox CN62 into Windows compatible, with mrchromebox BIOS, years and years ago
                              - gave the computer to his son a couple years later
                              - son now decided to revert it to Chrome OS, to sell it as original (re-writing BIOS with the backup one created by his dad)
                              - too lazy to remove the board from the case, thought a voltage regulator was the BIOS chip (you know... it has 8 legs)
(seems like the story was not that short)

He used alligator clips to read the chip. No luck reading it. Removed chip and placed on a SOC-8...

Hello, first of all, excuse me, I am using the translator, English is not my native language.

                              I have a Lenovo ideapad 330S - 14IKB laptop.

The tablet did not recognize me when I connected it, so I checked the device manager and I realized that there were many with the exclamation mark, so one by one I began to update their drivers until the sign disappeared of admiration, I even updated the BIOS, and the laptop rebooted normally and worked, so far so good, but the tablet still did not recognize me, I read on the internet that it could be due to a...

Alienware Aurora R15 accidentally flashed with XPS 8960 BIOS
                              by drux
                              Hi,
I've had an ssd that was previously used on dell xps 8960 and then it was installed in Alienware Aurora R15(intel version). On first windows boot in R15 windows started bios update and loaded bios for xps 8960(r15 and xps8960 essentially have same motherboards).

Now it has xps 8960 bios that looks different from alienware bios and when I'm trying to run bios update files for R15, I get unsupported platform error.

                              These models have AMI/Aptio BIOS.

Tried to edit product info with DMI Edit to change values back to Alienware R15, but it does not want...
