Laptop screen shortening the laptop motherboard

Hi there, basically I'm in a process of fixing my gigabyte aero 15, and I encountered a really weird problem, which is when I plug the EDP screen cable to the screen it shorts the whole motherboard, basically no volts, nothing, if you press the power button nothing happens, but when you unplug the screen it works like nothing happened, just to mention I'm not sure about the state of the screen, probably needs a replacement, but I just wanted to know before I replace with a new screen, if it's possible for a screen to short the entire motherboard, or is actually the main chip protecting the motherboard from damage, and also instead of the screen could be possible the edp cable be the responsible for this issue?
    thanks and stay safe everyone.

The backlight of the display can cause that, so measure the resistance to ground on the backlight pins of the LCD connector. Both on the LCD itself (LCD cable disconnected) or on the motherboard's connector with LCD plugged (and compare with LCD unplugged) in if possible, so that you confirm if the issue is with the LCD or with the cable.

Hi there, sorry for the late reply, hope everything is okay, so I measured with the laptop off and on and on the cable i had only 19v not 3v, but on the actually connector i got the both signals, anyway i bought a new screen and it still doing the same thing , which seems to be an issue with the cable

Friend messed up my laptop motherboard while working on my bench
        by Geeker007
        Hi All,

So my friend was visiting and he wanted to use my solder bench to solder on some WLED circuit board. My laptop was open on the side for RAM upgrade. I know my mistake.

So while soldering he had too much solder on the soldering iron tip and he just shook off the soldering iron on the table itself to remove extra solder on the soldering tip and it landed on the motherboard of laptop. He then out of fear tried to remove it using solder wick and did more damage by removing some components as well. So here I am with weird situation.

        I have not tried putting...

I was trying to fix my old laptop that has stopped displaying image a long time ago. It boots up, lights light up, fan spins but no image. Conned it to TV by HDMI cable, but it was unsuccessful. Components look intact, no water damage/corrosion on the board.

I don't really value this laptop too much, so I wanted to ask anyone for a schematic/boardview file or anything that describes motherboard in a simillar faison. I want to experience a challenge of figuring...

        Motherboard W26361-W84-X-02 - Black Screen
        by Stanley1843
        Hello to everyone.
My W26361-W84-X-02 motherboard starts but don't show image (no logo screen neither bios). Because, I have two of them I desoldered the bios chip from the no working motherboard and I soldered it to the working motherboard and the motherboard works OK, so the bios firmware isn't the problem. Below I took some measurements from the no working motherboard when is power on. Also, I replaced the RAM and didn't work again (maybe some pins from the RAM slot don't have the right voltage?). I replaced and the bios battery, and I made reset on the bios and again the problem didn't...
