laptop wont charge the battery. battery shows as charging in bios/system info

here are some measurements i took.

You have to try with a new battery or voltage on pin 8/9/10 must be higher than+11V in the Schematic pl700 +17V !

Just charge the battery with a lab psu for a little bit.
Limit the current to 1A and let it charge to a reasonable voltage.

That way you could rule the battery out. I revived many laptop batteries in the past with this method.

What voltage should I charge with? Same as written on the battery?

Charge it with constant current and limit the voltage to the pack's nominal voltage.

In schematic page 51 :
"Adapter protection:
if battery removed, adaptor only,
then trigger the H_PROCHOT#,
keep @ in BOM since battery can not
be removed by end user"

I have lil bit different issue with not charging. My mobo can not recognize the charger. Other thing is good. Charger been change. Please help me. Thanks

The laptop works but complains about the adapter? Or does the laptop not turn on at all?

Is the charger from Dell? The charger from Dell has an ID. The logic board checks for the valid IDs. Post full details and pics of the charger.

What is the history of this laptop? Liquid spill?

I found the problem in ide section. I change PQ6 then charger been detected. Solved. Thank you for your concern.

Hellow guys i have the same problem. I took some measurements and in some point i got confused. Just a quick question: The PS_ID Signal needs 3.3 V on the dc cable right? Would have any diffrence at all if my multimeter shows 3.0V? Could be the Dc Cable?
