Remove the BIOS chip, put it in your Eprom programmer and try to read the contents
If you can read the chip it is probably OK
Flash with the latest BIOS anyway. Tell the programmer to verify the contents after writing
That should prove it quite definitively

My pc updated bios through Windows Update and I was greeted with BLACK SCREEN WITH CPU FAN MAX SPEED. I don't think there is even a screen signal, because it triggers my monitor for a couple seconds and then the monitor turns off. I tried the other outputs as well.- I tried clearing bios, resetting bios, removed the CMOS battery, removed m.2 ssd, wifi, and ram. Still black screen with CPU fan blasting.
- I tried using the Lenovo BIOS CD and BIOS USB, but neither worked. At least I couldn't get anything to work.

Hello all. I bought a Thinkpad T14 Gen 1 (Intel i5-10310U) Model 20S0 on FB marketplace and the seller mentioned that the BIOS chip needs reprogrammed or replaced. I tried doing that, but no good. Laptop power button blinks 3 times when power adapter is plugged in but no boot. I have been looking at ebay listings and youtube videos and noticed that the BIOS chips look different than the one I have on mine. It is longer and has shorter legs.
