Lenovo Z51-70 : again !

hello,

i have another Z51-70 issue to solve.
i begin to think this model sucks

so i explain the issue :
when i push power button, white led comes on, fan spin for 5 seconds and stop (with bios battery removed). the power led still stays on
but i have no pictures and no backlight
if the bios battery is present, the fan spin all the time without any stopping.

but, i see 2 things :
the speakers do a pop sound every 2 seconds approximatively
at the same moment, the screen does a brief flash
i see that the display becomes black.
when i push the power button, the pc goes to sleep and display becomes grey.

i have tested the voltages :
20,57V
3,3V
5V
1,8V
1V
are all present and all stable.

i tried reset bios by let it unplugged and reset button.
->no change

can someone had already this one ?

first test with another screen check the voltage on RAM section 1.35VP 0.675VSP DRAMRST (SIO pin13 PCIRST)

Flash bios and if you need one, then post request in bios subforum. Do mention mb code.

i had made the hypothesis bios was damage but i need your advise
so i switched the bios chip (i have one of the previous Z51 damned one)
and it works !!!!

(yes change the chip is faster than search the correct bios :-)) )

On Intel platforms you have to clean ME region when swapping BIOS.

the laptop works perfectly, the bios chip was a new one, sell and program specificaly for the same motherboard.
don't know how to clean ME region, but if all works great, have i to do so ?

If you are getting lenovo logo after long time after power on, then you should clean the me region. Else you can carry-on, even though its suggested to clean me region.If abrupt shutdown occurs after some time or fan spins like crazy, then also need to clean me.

ok i will try more longer, as it is now, the lenovo logo appears immediately after presing power button, and always at first time.
fan speed is normal
so i will check for abrupt power down

i have read tutorial about me region but it is hard to understand
tell me if it is right :
download Z51 bios file on lenovo official site
open with intel image tool
look what major and minor region is
load csme file corresponding to this major and minor data
save
and flash;

but if i do that, how can he bios file could be specific for my laptop ?

If you clean me, it will be specific to your laptop after first boot.

effectively i have this error message but all work fine

bios returns failed, getchargelc status returns false

is this reliable to ME clean to do ?
