This will reprogram the gmux (graphics multiplexer) FPGA.
The AMD GPU gets completely disabled.

You'll need a Lattice JTAG programmer for this. You can get them for around 20$ on Ebay.

He wants 20$ for a license to flash one Macbook but I think it is a fair price since it works perfectly fine. There is a huge thread on MacRumors about this.

I'm in no way affiliated with doslab/dosdude1! I don't know him and I just want to spread my information as this is the only solution that works permanently.

Keep in mind that you lose brightness control and you can't connect external displays after that. Be really careful when soldering the JTAG connections. The pads rip of the board just by blowing at them.

Reprogramming the gmux does the exact same thing. Just in software form. And it looks way cleaner.

If you want to hassle with all those jumper wires go ahead. I'd prefer the jtag programming solution. You only have to solder 6 wires and do one click.

good day, i have a problem about macbook air a1520 the display go garble like a tv without poor channel when i open the laptop, but in safe mode it work properly,my question is its possible can i apply this type of repair to the unit that i have, please i need your help

A1502 (because A1520 doesn't exist) doesn't have a dedicated GPU. Plug in an external display and see if the issue goes away.
