Re: Mac A1181 820-2290 A NO POWER HELP!!!!

      820-2290 is DC-in board number. What's the logic board number? 820-1889, 820-2213, 820-2279, 820-2496…

Note that you need to trigger power button to get out of S5 state on those.
Check if you get green light on Magsafe first.
Go through the list of power rails measuring voltage. (when trigger power button)
No need to worry about BIOS if it's not even getting into S0 state…

        L7200 33.5Ω
        L7100 7.9Ω
        L7101 7.9Ω

The only number i have on board is 820-2279-A 2007,i assumed this is the logic board number. does this help!
on power button i have 3.43V.
when i short power button fan is not working.
as i mentioned i am missing S3 and S0 power rails.
i followed as an example PP5V_S3 and i end up on TPS2060.
this Ic has correct inputs but pin 6,7 which are output pins instead of getting 5v i get 0.4v.
i will try to do pwer rails when triger power button and i will let you know

I'm confused. Plug in original Magsafe 60W or 85W and check if you get green light.
If you do, short SMC_ONOFF_L to ground (R5010 for example, can solder a small wire that you touch to a ground point) and see if the fan spins or at least moves slightly, and then measure voltage all the power rails following the list of power rails when shorting (and releasing) SMC_ONOFF_L to ground.

first point i pluged adapter but no green light or orange.
i will test rails as you suggested and i will come back. I look for R5010 but i can not find.

                thanks

Ok if there is no green light you have to measure exact voltage on PP3V42_G3H and PPBUS_G3H first.

If you don't have green light or orange light on your charger then you need to check schematics for one wire circuit which is responsible for it.

As mentioned by @piernov please report with voltage readings of PPBUS_G3H and PP3V42_G3H. The readings you should expect are the following:

                      PPBUS_G3H: 13V
                      PP3V42_G3H: 3.42V

If you PP3V42_G3H is present but PPBUS_G3H is not present then diode mode PPBUS_G3H to check if you have a partial short.

If the diode mode readings are very low then consider to inject voltage on PPBUS_G3H but keep in mind that your CPUV Core could be shorted so be careful and inject not more than 0.8V. Check if any MOSFETS are getting warm by pouring some alcohol on them. Once you are certain that none of the MOSFETS are getting warm then increase your voltage gradually.

                        Hi,
using power supply because mag adapter is defective and i am waiting for replacement.
                        i have checked PP3V42_G3H and i get 3.42v present and on PPBUS_G3H
since i have power supply connected i got 12.6v. my power supply is at 16v.
i had ground SMC_onoff_L without memory and fan stared spinning.
i shutdown power supply and installed memory and stopped spinning.
i removed memory again but didn't spin.

My G3H rails are working also s5 rails.
after that i went to S3 rails and test some points with SMC_onoff_l to ground but i didn't get any trigger on voltages.
should i continuous on s0 rails or is not worth it.

                        Thanks

Use known good original Apple Magsafe 60W or 85W.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                            Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                            Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...
