Replacing bios chip on a Dell 15-5576 gaming laptop

    Hello all,

    Dell 15-5576 AMD gaming laptop

Before I continue to sink a more $ into this laptop I want to know if this will work. I've tried shorting the reset and ground pins, applying a 3v battery to the reset pin etc. The bios chip is a winbond 25q64fwsig 1711 chip. Would just getting a similar chip and flashing it to the latest Dell bios and soldering it to the board bypass this?

The initial bios password. As soon as the machine is turned on it asks for a password. If you enter one in wrong 3 times it shuts off

I reached out to Dell support they gave me a master password, but I cant clear the bios password yet. I will try kill cmos and the like to crack that. I have ordered a bios flasher and some spare bios chips I will respond back once they arrive from china

ASRock B650M PRO RS - BIOS CHIP 25Q256JW BLOCKED BY STATUS REGISTERS
            by DynaxSC
            Hi

I have a very strange issue with the BIOS SPI chip of an ASRock B650M PRO RS motherboard.
The SPI chip is an Winbond 25Q256JWEQ model (1V8).
The motherbaord doas not POST - it lits only CPU and DRAM EZ Debug Leds, and stays that way forever.
The Flashback function of the motherbaord is also not working, despite all instructions followed correctly - I'm 100% sure of this.

I have then desoldered the chip, backupped the contents, and tried to earease the chip in order to program stock image, but the chip is locked by status registers SREG2 (TB) and SREG6...

            by ed1i
Hello, I'm looking for bios chip on the motherboard on Dell Inspiron 7610. Server tag: CS4MDL3. I found on the back on the motherboard chip named: Winbond 25Q256JVEQ. Is it the right bios chip for this motherboard? I need to flash new bios on the chip, because it's stuck in infinity reboots. Is it possible this chip to be read AsProgrammer 25Q256JV option and ch341a programmer?...

            Need help id'ing chip on a Dell g15 5515
            by donnietr
            Hello all,
I have this dell g15 Ryzen Edition 5515. Board GDL56 LA-K453p. It had liquid damage when i bought it. Cleaned it up really well and then used thermal camera to see what got hot.
Found the power pdw1 and pdw2 under the graphics card were getting hot. Pdw2 was hottest, i had a similiar chip on another board so i put it on this board.
The other chip is now hot as well, which it was to begin with.
Thats the problem as i dont know what to call it, like is it a mosfat? or what?
I will attach a picture of both the boardlabel and of the area with the chips....

Dell G3 3579 BIOS chip ID
            by ezenia
            Hello,

I bought a Dell G3 3579 eBay. The fault was not mentioned and it did not come with charger. Before trying to power off battery, I did some basic checks on the coils (in resistance mode) to see if there was any short. None were reading short. Decided to power the board to see if anything happened. The keyboard backlight came on. About 5 seconds later, the fans begin spinning at max speed. The white LED comes on at this time, stays solid for a bit and goes off. Fans continue to spin at max. Display is black (no backlight). If I hold down power button, board goes off. I did give...

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
            by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...
