    asus gl553vw will not boot on battery only

    The story starts like this...i got this laptop in bad shape, broken...found out that it was missing like 10 capacitors on motherboard (on ac_but_sys and vcggt net)..and capacitors were not removed but pulled by force from the board.
    I didnt have the same motherboard boardview but i got boardview for similar asus gl553vd...so i replaced all the missing capacitors according to that baordview.

    and here is the problem, now laptop starts, everything is fine but...if i run it with adapter there is no problem. if i run it with adapter with battery in laptop, also there is no problem...battery is charging...everything seems ok. if i remove power adapter while the laptop is working everything is fine...if i restart the laptop (with battery only) everything is fine...But if i shutt it down and try to power it with only battery in laptop the motherboard shows only first light (on) no other lights and there is nothing on the screen, no sounds...I have to hit power button again for 4 seconds to shutt it down.
    So i meassure the voltages on the ac_but_sys while the power adapter is on and it shows 16,37v...but without adapter (with battery only) it goes to 15.92 v...I removed the battery and tested it alone and i get 15.92 v....

    So what do you think?

      Check ACPRESENT and BATLOW# signals in every configurations (AC only, battery only, AC + batt).

          i am checking right now but can you please specify what signals exactly? (boardview attached)

          For now i was able to determine that without adapter (only battery) i have ac_but_sys but no ph_c, vccsa,ph...the mosfet is not opening...

          one thing especially interesting on BATG net, when charger is on i have 16.2 V, with charger and battery 16.2 V but with battery only i have 22 V ???

          With only charger plugged with no battery i have 8.4 V on +BAT_CON and BATG. if i press start the laptop turns but with same voltage on those nets.

              BATLOW# is BATLOW#, ACPRESENT is AC_PRESENT_R.
              Voltage on BATG is normal, the MOSFET is opening.

                  With adapter only:

                  BATLOW# 3.32V
                  AC_PRESENT_R 3.29V

                  With adapter and battery:

                  BATLOW# 3.32V
                  AC_PRESENT_R 3.32V

                  With battery only:

                  BATLOW# 3.32V
                  AC_PRESENT_R 0V


                  Also, near that area i just noticed that small resistor R2206 (o OHM) is missing. also kicked from the board...nets susack#r suswarn#suspwrdnack_r
                  I will solder a new one...you think it does have anything do with this?

                      case closed soldered a missing 0 ohm resistor (jumper) and now it boots with battery alone also...

                          Hello, I've kinda similar problem. My Laptop is only booting up with the AC adapter but not with the battery.
                          Test cases I ran:
                          1. With only battery intact, doesn't boot up.
                          2. With AC adapter and battery, doesn't boot up.
                          3. With AC adapter only (battery removed), boots up just fine.

                          I've tried replacing the battery and the adapter but gets the same result.

                          Any help ?

                              My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

                              Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

                              iPad Air A1475 Boot loops after replacing battery

                              This iPad was working fine except the battery was not holding charge for more than 40 minutes. I replaced it with a new battery. I haven't glued the battery yet, just inserted it into the slot and held it with battery screw.

                              The iPad was powered on with the new battery and I am getting white screen with Apple logo for about 10 seconds, then the screen turns dark. It then cycles like this forever.

                              I know the battery is working because the iPad continues to boot loop without the charger until it depletes to 0% and the message displays I need to plug in the charger.

                              I'm working on my sister's laptop: Asus VivoBook F510UA-AH51 - The motherboard died so I replaced it.

                              The original board was:
                              ASUS X510UNR REV 3.0 A

                              The replacement board is:
                              ASUS X510UNR REV 3.0 B (identical except B vs A - I couldn't find an A board anywhere. Visually they are identical.)

                              Hi everyone,

                              I'm having an issue with my Lenovo ThinkPad P43s. The laptop does not power on when the internal battery is connected, but it works fine on AC power alone (battery disconnected). Once the battery is reconnected, the system becomes completely unresponsive — no lights, no fan spin, nothing.

                              Here's what I've tried so far:
                              • Power/EC reset (held power button for 60 seconds with battery and AC disconnected)
                              • Booted successfully on AC power only with the battery disconnected

                              Asus TUF won’t run off battery

                              I have an Asus TUF machine that doesn't run off battery. Runs off charger ok, shows orange battery charging light and shows battery is at 96%. Battery voltage is less than 0.5v though. It had a short on the 20v rail from a dead cap. Pic attached. Removed cap and replaced a dc in mosfet. Machine now powers and runs fine.
                              I have also replaced all 3 battery mosfets with no change. The 1st battery mosfet has 20v going in. Pic attached.
                              Does it sound like a battery ic problem, it has bq2470. Not sure if I should replace that as well at this stage as I'd need to order one.
