    Asus ROG G750JZ

Hi everyone i got a G750JZ whitch looks like dead no leds when charger pluged in not powering up.

So i took multimeter and checked the power supply whitch reads 19.65V on inerwall and 18.36V on center stick.

When power buttor is pressed nothing happens power supply is not shorted stays green.

So i thinked its bad dc in board i pluged it in separately but i can read voltage on pins its 16.75V

Then i pluged it back into motherboard read the pins again and its 3.75V ?

I would like to ask professionals on site what the problem might be (mosfets-or some ic ?)

    Thanks

which IC did you measure 16.75V and 3.75V on? what is the label of that IC?

Ah sorry i by pins i meant pins on DCIN board whitch is separate small piece.

I didnt read any ics yet i tryed to search for +5V and +19 but they reads 0.5-0.7v

      edit:

Ok i think it might be power conector i poked here and there and it came back to life is it possible that the dcin connector is making some contack with charger but not enought ?

yes, it is possible that the DC jack be loose. It is also possible that the DC jack be fine and some internal circuit be faulty.

put ear on the power adapter and try if you hear some sound change from it when you plug it in dcin board.

Well it hums a little but i think nothing extraordinary.
some how it did turned once again like in hour in that time i was fliping the board with charger in and when i checked the 19v rail it was ther and it turned on so i am confused right now.

I tryed to desolder the conector and pins and solder them back.

I can read voltages on it so the connector works ? also excuse my poor soldering skills but the notebok still dead

I was thinking maybe its motherboard voltage sensing but i dont have any schematic ill try to look online

disconnect the DC-in board from the mainboard. then, check voltage on the DC-in board.

Values on the picture above your post shows the values with dcin board disconected.

If the 19.6v is stable, the DC-in board is fine.

Do you mean the Dc-in board or the charger jack ?

a photo of the other side of the DC-in board will help.

if notebook is disassembled, before try dc board, easy step is check if 19volts are present in the charger circuit. there is a big resistor (dunno if its really a resistor) that is connected to 4 mosfet; 2 for vin side and 2 for B+ side. if 19volts present here dc and psu are ok. if not then dc board problem, but as i see u have 19volt on solder it means it should be ok. center pin is probably of wattage indicator, but dunno how it works.

Well if i plug the dcin board to the motherboard and then take ground from dcin board shield or ground on motherboard it shows only 3.88v and on some places only 0.5v. So it might be dcin board?

read volts on pin 1-2-3 and 4 of first mosfet where u have 3.88 volts incoming.

then remove dc from mainboard and see if it still 0.388 volt or go up to 19 volt on that green pin on dc board.
