Dear technicians,
I have a Sony VGN-NW130J with a faulty MBX204 mainboard. I have replaced the mainboard by MBX205 that belongs to Sony VGN-NW70JB. The two mainboards have the same chipset and are fully compatible. Now, everything works fine with the new mainboard except for booting.
When I connect the old harddisk, the laptop says: "no operating system found"
I entered the Bios settings, it detects the harddisk and CPU and it can save time settings. But when I change boot order in Bios, it is not saved and returns to default.
In the default boot option, the DVD-Drive has the highest priority then the next priority is the internal harddisk.
what do you think is wrong that this laptop cannot boot?
1- Booting Priority order ?
2- MBR of Harddisk ?
3- Mainboard ?
note: the hard disk was bootable with the previous mainboard.
thanks
