X553M DC Power Jack solder problems

    Hello,

Im replacing a Asus X553M DC power jack, but after a little trouble desoldering and soldering back I created a few solder bridges that will be pretty hard to "unbridge". I am attaching a pic to describe better. My understanding is that is all ground, but after reading a little looks like makes a difference when the plug passes the middle prong? Not sure.

    Thanks for any advice.

Dell Latitude E6230 - Problem with sound jack ? (De-solder)
        by AccountSaver
        Hello to all!

Suddenly a E6230 jack failed, and the strange thing is this.
        Let me explain.

I have swapped the sound jack with the closest that i can get. (4 pins on one side 3 pins on the other side)
The one that i used, you have to plug-in a headphone jack , to LISTEN from Speakers.
If i solder it , opposite direction , i mean the top down , and down up , then you have to plug it in , to listen from headphones,BUT no from speakers even if not connected.

I am sure that the sound jack that i have ordered and bought, it's not the...

Samsung UN55FH6030CXZA main board USB jack indentification
        by valvashon
Samsung UN55FH6030CXZA main board, BN41-01894, bad USB jack. Jack is mangled and needs replacing with like. Jack is marked "Simula" with the number 130318. Search for Simula turns up a weak looking website of a company that seems/seemed to supply USB jacks and other USB technology but no current items turn up for sale.

I should be able to research and find something applicable through a Digi-Key search after I unsolder/cut out this one and measure the mounting/pin connection pattern on the board but I thought I'd ask here to see if anybody knows of an exact make/model...

Best way to solder LVDS connector for beginner (and qfn) ?
        by corrize
Hello, I'm a beginner for micro soldering. Right now I have some difficult to solder a qfn 20, I guess I put too much solder on the thermal-ground pad, the result is a corner of chip wich don't touch the board (last try).

I use a wire solder with hot air, I tin the board and chip before with iron and I use good flux.

I will have to solder a LVDS connector (40 pins, laptop pc), I saw a solder paste in seringe, good quality (it does not scatter).
        See the test :

With hot air from bellow the board, that's...

what i went through dealing with my mobo with dead onboard sound!
        by ChaosLegionnaire
so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...

UV solder mask - high temp resistent, recomendation?
        by myth77
Can someone recommend any good UV solder mask? But i need a solder mask that will stand high temperetures. The thing is...sometimes i have a bigger cooper ripped from the board, lets say mosfet pad... i reconstract it with cooper sheet, then i "glue it" with solder mask...then i use UV light...and let it cool a bit. After, i try to clean the cooper of extra solder mask..and till that part all is ok. But, when i use a soldering iron to solder that pad/cooper...the solder mask gets weaker or destroyed and finally the pad is ripped again from the board .
        Is there any solder mask...
